I hope this letter finds all of you safely recovered from our recent visitor, Hurricane Matthew. I am happy to report that our club suffered minimal damage, losing only a few windows and our power for a short time. A big thank you to all of our staff who worked so diligently to have us restocked and open for family night dinner the Thursday immediately after the storm. In many ways 2016 has been a transitional year for our club, as we had both a new manager and chef join us during the fiscal year. I am happy to report that both Jim and Luke have done outstanding jobs in their first year with us, and I owe them both a debt of gratitude for making my job easier. Our club continues to operate well financially and we remain debt free. We had another sound year in membership growth, with our year end membership total above our beginning year number. Please remember that our demographics will continue to be a challenge in the near future, and hence quality new members will always be on the forefront of priorities. Club usage is on sound footing, as our monthly calendar continues to be full of both club and private functions. As we enter the holiday season, please read our" This week at the Oglethorpe Club" email blasts to keep up with the upcoming events. A reminder, our annual meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 16th. Lastly, as I write my final President's newsletter, I wish to thank all of our wonderful management, staff, and my fellow board members for all of their help and hard work this past year. It is precisely this bond of camaraderie that makes our club unique. At one hundred forty-six years young, the Oglethorpe Club's best days still lie ahead! See you at the club. With best wishes for the holiday season, G. Cyrus Harden, III
