B
randon Kuhn is the man. His
photos attest to this fact. He does it all: product shots, food shots, portraits, weddings, commercial portraits, architecture shots, and my personal favorite - underwater portraits. That's right, you can channel your inner Jacques Cousteau, Steve Zissou, or Little Mermaid, jump in, and Brandon will do the rest of the sub-marine magic. San Clemente born and bred, Brandon Kuhn is a 2007 Brooks Institute of Photography graduate. He's been a Traveling Wilbury for most of his life, always interested in exploring and discovering the lands outside his own backyard. His travels have taken him in a connectthe-dots constellation of stops ranging from nooks and crannies of the US, to the dunes of the Middle East, to the blue heaven of the deep ocean. Brandon can be hired to spruce up what would otherwise be an average/ordinary/expected photo of you/your about-to-graduate offspring/your wedding party/your mother/your family, and make your next photo something truly unique and unforgettable. Here’s the 411: First, call Brandon and set up a photo shoot date. Second, decide on the location. If you have your own pool, he can come to you. If you’re pool-less, don’t stress, he can provide a salt water pool to use. The great thing about salt water pools is that there is no chlorine or chemicals that might harm your clothing. The third step is to raid your closet and find some fun outfits: everything from cowboy boots and jeans to a slick suit. Your wardrobe is only limited by your imagination. One of Brandon’s favorite things is the “trash the dress” shoot, where brides (or anyone with a fancy dress, for that matter) gets underwater photos taken with their dress on. The final step is to show up, let the professional makeup artist fix you up, get dunked, and have fun. Underwater photography can make every photo/portrait session instantly new and exciting: Engagement photos, Save The Dates, Graduation Photos, Family Portraits, Business Head Shots, and whatever else you can think up. Not only this, but consider how much grief you’ll save yourself in trying to get the kids to dress up for a photo when you can tell them that the photo shoot location isn’t in some studio, but a pool. It’s really a win-win situation all around.
