London Wilds is a design think tank research project carried out for the London School of Architecture in 2019/20. Research into methods for how architecture, construction and landscaping methods can be 'rewilded' to provide habitats for multiple species and increase biodiversity. Design for a rewilding centre in the site of an former depot in the Lee River Valley next to the Hackney Marshes. A hub to educate, inspire and prototype experimental methods for small-scale urban rewilding. The project explores how a self-willed wild landscape can be catalysed through the introduction of beavers and use of urban agro-forestry, and how this can encourage knowledge of and engagement with the environment among those living nearby.
