AUPE Pickets Heritage House

Michael Simpson Editor A second information picket has been held in Vegreville by an AUPE-staffed facility. This time, Heritage House was the scene where workers chanted strong pro-union messages of solidarity and carried their flags of red and black in front of the seniors lodge. From inside the building, at least one senior looked out the front window with a broad smile
and said “I’m here to support them. Enough is enough, already.” Negotiation teams have not yet come to an agreement after talks began in the summer of 2015 for renewing the agreement between AUPE staff and Points West Living, the company which operates Heritage House and Century Park, the latter being the scene of an information picket on October 15 this year.
