1 lb ground beef 1 medium onion, chopped 1 can (16 oz) refried beans 1 can (4 oz) chopped chilies ¼ to ½ tsp garlic powder ¾ cup sour cream ½ to 1 tsp ground cumin ½ to 1 tsp tomato, seeded and chopped 1 can sliced ripe olives, drained, 1 small green pepper, chopped. 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend tortilla chips or taco shells Lettuce and salsa. In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Drain. Stir in the beans, chilies and garlic powder. Heat through. Combine the sour cream, cumin and chili powder and spread over beef mixture. Top with tomato, olives and green pepper. Sprinkle with cheese and serve with chips, lettuce and salsa.

2 cups Graham Cracker Crumbs ½ cup butter, melted and cooled. Mix crumbs with melted butter and press smoothly on bottom of a 9”X13” pan. Bake at 350 F for 10 minutes and let cool. Set aside about ½ cup to sprinkle on top. 1 pkg. (3 oz Each:) Orange, Cherry, Lime Jello 3 cups boiling water ¾ cup cold water. Prepare 1st 3 packages of jello separately with 1 cup hot and ¼ cup cold water in each. Dissolve jello thoroughly. Chill until rm. Combine 1 cup pineapple juice And ¼ cup sugar in saucepan heating to boiling. Remove from heat and dissolve 1 pkg. 3 oz lemon jello with ½ cup cold water. Chill until syrupy. Whip 2 cups heavy cream and fold into syrupy lemon jello. Stir well. Cube 3 remaining jellos and fold into the cream . Spread onto crumbs and chill 8 hours.

Christmas carols can be heard far and wide from the end of November through Christmas Day. “The 12 Days of Christmas” is one of the most recognizable carols, and for good reason, as the popular song can trace its history back several centuries. Researchers have traced the earliest printed version of the poem on which the song is based all the way back to 1780. That’s three years before the signing of the Treaty of Paris, which officially ended the American Revolutionary War. The song has long been suspected to have been a way for Catholics in Britain to teach their children the catechism, as the 1700s was a controversial period for Catholicism in
the country. However, no documentary evidence exists in support of that theory, and many historians feel it is inaccurate. Others indicate that, while 1780 is likely the first time the poem was printed, the poem is likely much older than that, with origins potentially in France or Scotland. What is known is that the version many people recognize today, namely in song form, can be traced to the early twentieth century, when English singer and composer Frederic Austin first popularized the melody for the song. Austin performed that version of the song beginning in 1905, and it was first published in 1909

Grandma got run over by a reindeer. Walking home from our house Christmas eve. You can say there’s no such thing as Santa, But as for me and grandpa we believe. She’d been drinking too much eggnog, And we begged her not to go. But she forgot her medication, and she Staggered out the door into the snow. When we found her Christmas morning, At the scene of the attack, She had hoof-prints on her forehead, And incriminating Claus marks on her back. In the bottom of a buttered casserole dish, slice 2 medium onions. Over this place 2 large, sliced potatoes. Layer 1 lb of uncooked ground beef over it. Followed by 1 cup of uncooked rice. Add 1 cup of each, chopped celery and sliced carrots. Season with salt, pepper and paprika. Take and mix one can of tomato soup and 1 can of hot water. And pour over the entire casserole. Cover and bake at 350 F for 2 hours.

Ingredients 2 eggs 1 onion chopped 2/3 cup milk 1 c. shredded cheddar cheese 3 bread slices 2 tsp. salt ½ cup raw carrot ¼ tsp pepper 1 1/2 lbs ground beef ¼ c ketchup ¼ cup br sugar 1 TBSP prepared mustard Instructions Break eggs in large bowl and beat with fork. Add milk, salt, pepper and bread crumbs. Beat until bread disintegrates, add onions, carrots, cheese and beef. Mix well. Put into loaf pan. Combine brown sugar, ketchup mustard in a small bowl and spread over meatloaf. Bake in oven at 350 for 1 ½ hours. Let stand for 10 minutes.

Fry beef and onions together until beef is cooked and onions are translucent. Add garlic and fry until brown. Drain fat and place in crockpot. Stir in tomatoes, soup, broth, bay leaves, thyme, frozen veg, sugar and pepper. Simmer on high 4 -5 hrs. Before serving cook macaroni. Drain and add to soup. Remove bay leaves and serve. Yummy!!

2 cups graham cracker crumbs ½ cup melted butter. Mix above and press into the bottom of a 9 X 13” pan, Reserve about ½ cup for the top. ½ cup butter 1 ½ cups icing sugar 2 eggs Mix and spread on cracker crumb layer, 1 cup whipping cream, whipped stif y 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained 1 tsp. vanilla Whip cream stiff and add vanilla and drained pineapple. Spread on top. Sprinkle with crumbs saved from top. Chill then serve as is.

Strawberry Pretzel Dessert Squares Diane Lydom
2 cups nely crushed pretzels 1/2 cup sugar, divided 2/3 cup butter or margarine, melted 1-1/2 pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese (12 oz.), softened 2 Tbsp. milk 1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping 2 cups boiling water 1 pkg. (6 oz.) JELL-O Strawberry Flavor Gelatin 1-1/2 cups cold water 4 cups fresh strawberries, sliced Heat oven to 350°F. Combine pretzel crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar and butter; press onto bottom of 13x9-inch pan. Bake 10 min. Cool. Beat cream cheese, remaining sugar and milk with mixer until blended. Stir in COOL WHIP; spread over crust. Refrigerate until ready to use. Add boiling water to gelatin mix in large bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water. Refrigerate 11/2 hours or until thickened. Stir in berries; spoon over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate 3 hours or until rm.
