From the generations of pitmen, shipbuilders and steel workers that helped build the world, to the pioneers who spawned the rail revolution, the North East has quite the track record when it comes to standing at the vanguard of progress. The scene today is no different, with our region at the forefront of digital change and the Government’s ‘green industrial revolution’, the latter thanks – in no small part – to headline-grabbing investments around vehicle battery production, offshore wind, hydrogen power and carbon capture and storage.
