Summer@MA provides seven weeks of unique programming to enrich student learning during the summer months. These experiences include Camp Eagle, as well as morning and afternoon Enrichment Camps that provide vast opportunities to explore Athletic and Game Camps, Art and Specialty Camps, and Academic Camps.
• Camp Eagle is a traditional day camp for students entering grades 1 to 5. With unique weekly themes, Camp Eagle offers children the opportunity for movement, creativity, discovery and lots of play. Our camp directors and student counselors ensure that each day is fun-filled, safe, and enriching. We look forward to making joyful memories with your children during these summer months!
• Camp Eagle Plus (+) Parents who wish to register their child for Camp Eagle AND one Enrichment Camp within the same week will receive a discounted rate. Please pay attention to the grade expectations for each camp. Students registered for Camp Eagle Plus must meet the grade requirement for both Camp Eagle and the Enrichment Camp.
• Enrichment Camps Our enrichment camps allow students to explore a myriad of interests. These camps are organized by Athletic and Game Camps, Art and Specialty Camps, and Academic Camps. These offerings run for either 3 days or 5 days as a morning session or afternoon session.

• All camps require a $40 nonrefundable deposit that is paid towards the total cost of each camp.
• Option 1: Payment is paid in full at the time of registration and includes the $40 nonrefundable deposit
• Option 2: A $40 nonrefundable deposit is paid for each camp you sign up for at the time of registration. The remainder of the camp balance will be automatically processed on the first day the camp session begins. Payments can be made by credit card or ACH/bank account.
• Cancellations and Refunds
• It is the caregiver’s responsibility to modify/cancel reservations by the deadline if the camper’s scheduled attendance should change. A request for refund must be emailed to summer@ montgomeryacademy.org 24 hours before the start of the camp. Cost is not based on attendance and missed days within a session cannot be prorated.
Once the camp has begun, refunds may be granted for medical or emergency circumstances only. An explanation of medical or emergency circumstances must be provided for a refund request to be considered. Additional documentation may be requested by Montgomery Academy. Partial or full refunds for medical or emergency circumstances will be at the discretion of Montgomery Academy after reviewing the request. If Montgomery Academy must cancel a camp due to low enrollment, we will let you know at least a full week prior to camp starting and a refund can be issued. Montgomery Academy reserves the right to change the details of any camp/program. We are committed to our campers having a safe, healthy, and fun-filled summer.

• All camps (including Camp Eagle) will be located at 3240 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL 36106. We will send out procedures for drop off and pick up closer to camp start.

Pass, Set, “Boomdaddy” Volleyball Camp $135

Camp Pass, Set, “Boomdaddy” is a volleyball camp that Coaches Gordon and Lowe have been directing for the past 16 years. Between these two coaches, they have over 80+ years of experience in the game of volleyball. Not only are the skills of the game taught and trained, but multiple lead up games to volleyball are played as well. On the final day (Wednesday), a tournament is conducted where all campers are placed on teams and then these teams compete for the tournament championship. Come join us for some volleyball fun!

Our fun fitness camp is jam packed with a wide variety of awesome, daily themed activities! Campers will have a blast with their friends in super fun gym games, playing outdoors. Make plans to join our Lower School PE teacher Coach Porter for these morning sessions where campers will experience healthy social interactions as well as learn cooperation through group activities. They will also develop confidence as they work together as a team that will contribute to a healthy mindset!

Each camper will participate in age appropriate groups where we will work on the fundamentals of catching, route running, throwing, handoffs, stances, safe tackling, and safe blocking. Additionally, we will have a punt, pass, kick competition and play touch football daily.

We all know that reading is fundamental, but did you know your brain isn’t really wired to read? Many
different parts of your brain are employed to read a simple sentence. While some of us take to it easily, many of us will need some support gaining the phonemic skills essential to becoming a good reader. If you have a student entering the first or second grade and they are just shy of meeting their year–end reading goals, this camp may be the perfect fit to help strengthen weaker skill areas. It will also help slow the dreaded “Summer Slide” phenomena, where the average student loses between 8% and 25% of what they have learned during the school year. Each session is capped at 3 students to provide an ideal intensive tutor–to–student ratio.
Each session will include work on vowel sounds, CVC words, and consonant blends presented in the Orton Gillingham format scientifically demonstrated to
be the best practice strategy for all young readers. It will include two movement brain breaks and a snack. At the end of the session parents will be given materials that enrich their understanding of reading fundamentals and a short recommendation personalized for their young learner.
Different content will be covered in session one and session two. You may register for one or both sessions.

If you have a rising third or fourth grade student consider this: for better or for worse, each grade will require more writing than than the year before it and, perhaps as daunting, every student is susceptible to the Summer Slide phenomena. (The Summer Slide is the official term for the 8% to 25% of skills that the average student may lose over the summer vacation.) Maybe your student loves creative writing but needs practice with the more formal aspects of the craft or you have a young learner that always has great ideas but struggles to express them in a well written paragraph. This course is designed to boost their writing skills while focusing on shoring up language arts fundamentals.This session will include a review of commonly misspelled words and grade level grammar expectations and explain some of the fundamentals of effective note taking and summarizing.
Session one will focus on narrative essay writing and session two will focus on opinion writing. You may register for one or both sessions.

Campers will combine the fun of building robots with programming. They will work individually and in teams to build and program robots while learning visual coding and the engineering process.
