I believe that our generation is one in which children are constantly being diagnosed as abnormal for normal childhood behaviors. Therefore, I appreciated that the article mentioned that “nothing is ‘wrong’ with children who display less-than-perfect behaviors; they’re not broken and they don’t have to be fixed.” M.N.

(Re: How Awesome Is Anxiety?, Issue 285) I loved this past week’s article on overcoming anxiety. The writer pointed out the positive aspects of an anxious child in such a nice way. I suffer from PTSD, and when others can’t understand how something “so small” was traumatic to me, the reality is similar to what you described in the article; since I’m a very emotional person (and this is true in the positive as well), I therefore get more affected emotionally than others. As an aside, the recipe for the cinnamon coffee was really delicious, and I can’t wait to try it again. Thank you, S.M.

(Re: Issue 285 — Conquering the Crippling Fear) I read with interest the article on anxiety. Rabbi Halpern shares beautiful ways to deal with fears and teach children to cope with them. In addition, from my experience working with clients to heal trauma, I’ve learned that most anxieties and fears result from past traumas and intense emotions that were trapped in the body; when eliminated, the fears and anxieties mostly disappear. (The article on hypnosis so beautifully shared one way of eliminating the trauma.) Perhaps a fear may stem from a time your child was at the scene
