Like most independent dog rescue organisations, the Saving Hope Foundation relies on its network of foster families to take in and care for abandoned and surrendered dogs and puppies until they are ready to go to their adoption families.

When I heard Saving Hope desperately needed foster volunteers, we jumped at the opportunity to help prepare rescue dogs for a happy furever home.

My family's previous experience with a rescue dog was a little guy named Sherlock He came into our household as a frightened, cuddly boy with no experience of leading the normal life of a family pet

He quickly learned housetraining, and to get on with other dogs rather than be frightened of them I have often found myself sitting on the footpath stuffing treats into his mouth as other dogs walk by, to teach him that good things appear when strange dogs come near.

Sherlock

Copying our family dog, Shadow, he's learned how to play, do zoomies, and sit and lie down He loves perching on my knee while I work, and he does special happy breathing when I pat or talk to him. Sherlock is much loved by his family now that he's not scared any more.

Saving Hope has saved more than 3,167 puppies and dogs like Sherlock and has 186 in foster care at the moment The Foundation desperately needs more people to act as that halfway point, to teach puppies and dogs that life as a family pet can be wonderful Saving Hope provides all fosters with medical care, toys, and food - you just need to supply love, guidance and patience. So if you want to experience the reward and gratification of saving a puppy or dog from an unknown fate please get in touch with Saving Hope now.
