Silverdale Volunteer Fire Brigade

A recent call of note for the fire brigade was a third alarm structure fire at Fulton Hogan on Hibiscus Coast Highway on 20 December. There were 22 appliances involved including specialist ladder trucks, foam tenders, command units and a hose layer. Here, three asphalt silos caught on fire but were extinguished fairly quickly.

In hot, dry summers it is important that everyone be fire safe. Hihiratia mehemea ka āhei koe ki te tahu ahi i tō rohe. Check if you can light a fire in your area via https://www.checkitsalright.nz/ or ring Auckland Council.

Have you considered becoming a volunteer firefighter?

Volunteer fire fighters help make communities more resilient. They are first to the scene at over 31,000 incidents across New Zealand each year and are as likely to attend medical emergencies and motor vehicle accidents as they are to attend a fire.

Silverdale Volunteer Fire Brigade (SVFB) are currently recruiting for new fire fighters. Strong brigades have members from a wide range of backgrounds, skills and experiences and SVFB are keen to reflect the diversity of our great community.
