Student Council Community Group This year, our younger students from Team Kiwi have been enjoying fun activities on Wednesday mornings. They have been participating in an entertaining activity called PMP – Perceptual Motor Programme. On Wednesday mornings, new-entrant children from Team Kiwi go down into our School Hall to do some activities that require good listening skills, teamwork and cooperation. The children take part in activities ranging from putting their skills to the test on the balancing beam to tweaking their expertise in accuracy by throwing beanbags into a hoop. All of these exercises are designed to prepare children for learning and help avoid frustrations and feelings of failure, which can lead to low self-esteem later in their school lives.

We decided to ask four students what they thought of PMP. “What activity do you enjoy doing at P.M.P. and why?” Room 7 Olivia: “The spinning top, because I like going around in circles.” Cooper: “The moon hoppers, because you can bounce and you can bounce really high.” Room 9 Rebecca: “The spinning top, because it’s really fun you get to go around and around.” Jack: “The trampoline because you get to bounce and bounce.”
