theMillwatermag Homeopathy for Headaches

Headaches can be caused by a multitude of factors. They can be related to stress, sun, hormonal imbalance, hangover or a fall. Headaches can also be caused by a serious health issue and it is therefore important to have them checked out by your doctor and possibly have an MRI.

Headaches can be very debilitating. In a great number of cases, the headache indicates that your stress levels are too high. It serves as a warning sign that you need to make changes in your lifestyle. Maybe you need to take time out, change your diet or reflect on personal, home or work conflicts.

Depending on the symptoms and causes, there are a number of remedies that can help with headaches.

A headache caused by stress due to overwork, anger or anxiety may be alleviated by Nux Vomica. Usually this person is hard working, irritable, impatient, bossy and fastidious. The headache is accompanied by a general sick feeling and by digestive upsets, which could result in vomiting, gas, or sour or bitter taste.

A headache caused by too much sun may be alleviated by Belladonna. This headache gets worse after 3pm, for light, noise and jarring. It is better to apply a cold flannel on the forehead and rest in a dark room.

A headache that is related to hormonal imbalances may be alleviated by Pulsatilla. The person who responds to this remedy is better in fresh air, in company and when being consoled. The pain is on the forehead or on one side and is changeable.

Headaches due to a fall or hitting the head can be relieved by Conium. Constant headaches might be accompanied with dizzy spells and constipation.

These are only a few remedies that can be used for headaches. Always remember to consult a registered homeopath for chronic health issues.
