We are a video-first marketing and recruitment agency, who use our expertise in the metal and engineering sectors to provide an unrivalled service to companies and organisations like yours.

We provide a full-featured videography and photography service, as well as graphic design, web development, social media marketing, email marketing and brand strategy consultation services.

We also publish an online digital publication for the metal and engineering sectors - The Metal Magazine - which acts as an outlet for the video content and editorial pieces that we produce for our clients, spreading newsworthy and educational content to subscribers and connections across the full spectrum of the industry.

This document contains our 2022 Price Structure, providing information about the range of services that we currently offer, the benefits and costs of each, and information about the booking process and our onward commitment to you.

Once you approve the package of services that you would like us to perform, we will send you a contract to confirm that those prices are locked in and to outline in further detail what you can expect from us and what we will expect from you.

We will also agree with you a deadline for delivery, an exact breakdown of what will be delivered, instructions about the review and approval process, and any other relevant information.

MAGAZINE The Metal Magazine is an online, digital-only publication and website that features news and articles from across the metal and engineering sectors.

In the magazine, we aim to provide some kind of educational or newsworthy content in every piece, and use videos to tell stories that promote our clients in a far more effective way than the traditional printed magazine.

The magazine is released quarterly. The first magazine was released in March 2022, and we’ve just released our second edition in June 2022. We understand that it’s a bold decision to get involved with a product so early on, which is why we’re currently offering discounted rates for companies and organisations to feature in the magazine.

Our first two editions have reached subscribers and connections from across the full spectrum of the metal and engineering sectors, from source materials to end users, with over 40,000 views of the first edition and projections for the second magazine looking even better.

To feature in the magazine, we prefer to use video and create fresh content and articles rather than simply regurgitating existing press releases. We would look for a newsworthy angle or educational perspective, to give the readers added value and a reason to keep returning.

For your company, this could be telling your existing and potential clients about a new service or product that you’re offering, a new investment that you’ve made or a major deal that you’ve secured. Or it could be that your company are experts in a particular service or process, and we can produce a video about that service or process, speaking to the experts in your company to explain what they do and why they’re so good at it, and your company is advertised by proxy of being seen as the experts in that field.

The minimum engagement that we would look for to secure a feature in the magazine would be £3000, which would include us producing a video with you at one of your sites, at a time that is convenient for you, as well as working with you to produce some kind of article or educational material to accompany the video (e.g. we would interview your staff to establish the detail for the story and ensure that we’re covering the most pertinent points).

There are other options that you may be open to considering, such as block-booking into the next four issues and committing in advance to further videos and articles, which would again be discounted for early partners. www.themetalmagazine.com

Articles published in the magazine will remain live on our website indefinitely. They will contain links back to your website and information about your company, so will add valuable backlinks to your website that will aid your search engine optimisation and add credibility to your site.

For example, say that we made a video and wrote an article about your expertise in ‘welding’, and the article contained links back to your website: Whenever people searched for the phrase ‘welding’ on Google and found our website, they would see your video and read your article, and be directed to your website if they wanted to find out further information.

On the following page are examples of price-points that we will use to guide our personalised quote.

Where travel abroad is required, we would expect that the client would, in addition, pay for our travel costs, any necessary local equipment hire and reasonable expenses.

OPTION 1

£3,000

UK-based, 1 day shoot, 1 video + 1 article, 1 edition

We will produce ONE video-based article with you that will appear in ONE edition of The Metal Magazine.

The video will feature our branding and be shared as a contribution to the magazine.

The video and article must contain some kind of newsworthy or educational content. We can work with you to brainstorm some ideas and find the right angle if nothing immediately comes to mind.

You will be given editorial control over the content of the video and article, and nothing will be published or shared without your final approval.

You will also be provided with an unbranded version of the final edited video, to use on your own social media and communication channels in the future.

OPTION 2

£10,000

UK-based, 4 videos + 4 articles, 4 editions

We will produce FOUR video-based articles with you that will appear in FOUR editions of The Metal Magazine.

All of the features and conditions of Option 1 apply, but this is a discounted rate for committing to the next 4 editions (4 quarterly editions = 12 months).

With these longer-term commitments, we would ideally aim to provide some kind of theme or story arc to the articles, offering you the opportunity to publicise a longer-term process or different areas of your business, but the final editorial discretion about the subject matter remains with yourself.

OPTION 3

£6,000

UK-based, 1 day shoot, 1 video + cover story, 1 edition

This option reflects the cost for us to produce ONE video-based article with you that will appear ON THE COVER of ONE edition of The Metal Magazine.

All of the features and conditions of Option 1 apply, the only difference being that this will feature on the cover of the magazine and in the first article position inside. Our analytics so far suggest that page views decrease as one travels further towards the back of the magazine, so earlier positioning can somewhat guarantee higher views.

The cover of the magazine also becomes the thumbnail image for that edition of the magazine, ensuring that your article is featured prominently across the website and social media.

OPTION 4

£3,000

UK-based, 1 day shoot, 2 video adverts

If, rather than produce a video that accompanies an article, you wish to simply advertise in the magazine, we offer the option for us to produce video-based adverts for you instead.

This price reflects producing 2 x ‘simple’ 30-60 second video adverts at £1,500 each.

Due to the work involved in travelling to your site, recording and editing the videos, we do not currently offer the option to just have one of these type of videos produced.

The adverts will be entirely branded in line with your company guidelines, and will be yours to take away and use elsewhere if you wish.

The two adverts may be featured on different pages of the same edition, or in different editions, depending on your preference.

OPTION 5

£3,000

4 static 1/2 page adverts

To advertise with a static image, whether using your own images and copy or working with us to develop new content, we charge £750 per 1/2 page, with a minimum spend of £3,000 (4 x 1/2 page adverts, 2 x 1 page adverts etc).

This can be spread over one or multiple editions.

VIDEOGRAPHY

We have a team of experienced videographers and editors, who specialise in producing content for metal and engineering companies. We understand the industry deeply, we’re able to interview your team using terminology and language that they’re familiar with, and we can shoot footage of your processes and your machinery that shows them in their best light.

We are familiar with working in environments with additional health & safety considerations, and can bring our own PPE if required.

We have the latest camera and audio recording equipment and use industry-standard editing software, which means that we can turn work around quickly and produce highdefinition videos of exceptional quality.

Some of the types of videos that we’re experienced in producing are listed below, but this is not an exhaustive list of the types of videos available, and if you have any ideas that are outside of these boxes then we’d love to get creative with you.

Our YouTube channel features some examples of our recent work, including a series of testimonial videos titled ‘Working with Comton Group’, in which some of our clients talk about what it was like being involved in the video production process.

Videos may incorporate one or more elements of each different style, these are just suggestions of the types of content you might consider. Discounted rates are available for projects containing multiple videos.

All of our projects are priced based on a minimum spend of £3,000, given the time involved to record the footage, edit the video, the use of our equipment and our expertise.

Corporate videos will cost £3,000 to £15,000 depending on the length and scale.

Interview-style videos will cost £1,000 to £1,500 each, with a minimum commitment of £3,000.

Short videos (< 1 min) will cost £300 to £500 each, with a minimum commitment of £3,000.

Projects requiring overnight travel or foreign travel will be priced appropriately to cover our costs and reasonable expenses.

PHOTOGRAPHY

To engage our services to produce photo content that you can use on your website, social media channels, printed marketing and email campaigns, we charge a day rate of £1,500.

For this, we will use our full range of camera and drone equipment to take 500-1500 photos of your subject matter of choice, the full rights and ownership of which will pass on to yourselves to use as you see fit.

We will provide you with a link to a Google Drive folder, where you can view and download the original files. If your internet connection is unreliable, we could provide the photos to you on an external hard drive instead that we could send to you in the post, for an additional fee of £100.

We can also provide a retouching service, where we can enhance your images, remove blemishes and unwanted objects, and ensure that your products and premises look as good as your brand deserves.

It is possible for us to combine photography engagements with videography visits, so that we can minimise disruption to your operations or make sure that everyone who needs to be present is available.

Projects requiring overnight travel or foreign travel will be priced appropriately to cover our costs and reasonable expenses.

SOCIAL MEDIA We are now offering the option for us to manage your social media channels for you.

We will designate one of our team to manage your account, liaising with you at intervals of your choice (usually weekly). We will plan the strategy with you, plan posts that relate to the topics you wish to focus on, and engage with comments on your behalf.

This option is ideal if you don’t have your own in-house marketing team, you’re new to social media, or you’re looking to grow your social media channels with the expertise of an external partner.

We see this as the next logical step after offering our videography, photography and magazine services. We can produce videos, photos and graphics for your company or organisation that stop people from scrolling and make you stand out from the crowd.

Our team are familiar with LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Twitter, as well as paid advertising options and sponsorship opportunities in each of those platforms.

If you’re already paying for paid advertising on social media, we can help you to optimise your content to increase the return on your advertising spend.

Our fees for managing your social media channels relate to the number of channels you wish us to manage, the frequency of the posts, whether you will be providing the images / videos / graphics or we will be producing those for you, and the length of the contract term.

Some examples of social media management options are given on the following page, but bespoke packages can be considered in combination with our videography and photography services.

We can work with you to identify the types of content that work best on each platform, identify and target your ideal audience, and create short-, medium- and long-term goals that are measurable and effective.

We can provide strategy development workshops with you and your team, starting at £2,000 per day.

Marketing training We can coach you and your staff to do everything that we do! We can produce a training package for your team that includes the basics of how to post content on different social media platforms, how to send emails to a mailing list, how to shoot and edit videos on your mobile phone, and the techniques that we use to increase sales and engagement, including the language and methods that we’ve found successful when sending cold messages to prospective clients, including video and voice messages.

We can provide on-site basic training workshops at your place of business, with half-day sessions costing £500 per delegate (minimum spend of £2,000 per day). We can also produce more complex or in-depth bespoke training packages, such as editing videos with industrystandard Adobe software, or how to manage and update WordPress websites. Brand design / strategy development The visual language that you use to convey your marketing messages is often even more important than the message itself.

Your website, photography, social media posts, logo design, vehicle branding, email communications and the quality of your product or service are all outward representations of your company, and it is essential that you give a clear, consistent message to your clients and potential customers.

‘Simple’ websites, featuring photos and videos of your business and information about the products and services that it can offer, act as a virtual shop window and are often the first thing that people see about your company. £5,000+ depending on complexity.

More complex websites, featuring e-commerce functionality that allows visitors to purchase your products or services directly and integrate with your existing inventory systems, are more costly to develop, but allow your business to earn money while you sleep. Costs can range from £15,000 to £100,000+ depending on functionality and size of inventory.
