We've been perfecting our craft for over a century, growing the strongest, most beautiful hydrangeas in the world. Always striving for true mastery, with respect for nature and a fascination for innovation. It's in everything we do, and in each detail of our products. From root to flower. In this booklet you'll find inspiration and an insight to our craftsmanship; how we cultivate our masterpieces.

3

With over a 100 years of experience we're not afraid to take risks: growing new varieties, leaving our mark on the market, charting our own course. We try new things, even if we sometimes fail in the process. This is the only way to grow.

We work towards a sustainable future by investing in stronger varieties. Due to their strength, our hydrangeas are resistant to both disease and heat and require less supporting materials such as sleeves or sticks while maintaining an excellent shelf presentation.

6

Thanks to years of breeding the very best hydrangeas, we offer the most beautiful shelves and a long flowering time for consumers. They are bred to keep blooming year after year, and to keep making you happy.

7

With its sturdy branches, Pure keeps its beautiful flowers upright without assistance. This is the result of years of trials and focus. The power of simplicity, for those who love the purity of nature.

Magical is a long flowering hydrangea which changes colour and easily flowers for six months. This Masterpiece grows more beautiful by the week. A magical experience on your display. Magical has a flowering period of 150 days, during which time it will turn from pink or blue to dark red or dark blue.

11

By packaging our products as much as possible without trays and sleeves, we save 75,638 kilograms of plastic annually! Additionally, we focus on cultivating strong, unstaked varieties. This helps us save 13,050 kilograms of stakes and rings every year. We're quite proud of that.

Sustainability is an ongoing process for us. Whether it's the introduction of new packaging or the cultivation process, we continuously look for areas where we can improve. As a leading supplier of hydrangeas, small steps can make a big impact.

so much love for nature 12

A hydrangea, with a little love, lasts a lifetime. If planted outdoors after blooming indoors, it will bloom anew every spring. Another reason why we're such fans of hydrangeas.

This classic belle is twice as beautiful thanks to its stunning colour combinations. The contrasting, coloured edges on the petals put the finishing touch on this Masterpiece.

15

This double-flowered hydrangea combines Dutch origins with Japanese genetics; a groundbreaking experiment that has resulted in an exotic spectacle with a compact habit and star-shaped flowers. Beautifully refined in every detail.

The Curly Wurly, with its boldly curled petals, started off as a single stubborn specimen from a different variety. It was so extraordinary that we decided to further develop it as a Masterpiece.

19

From cultivation to final product, we manage everything in-house, ensuring top-notch quality and service.

OUR PROCESS 20

Breeding new masterpieces

The process starts with breeding. This specialist expertise lies in the hands of our companions at HI Breeding, a company started by the father of mastergrower Robin. Here we cultivate the most beautiful and strongest hydrangeas for growers worldwide.

21

The rooting process

After breeding, we proceed to cultivate the hydrangeas. The young cuttings are rooted to grow into robust plants. The rooting process happens inside the greenhouse and has a timespan of 5 weeks, after which the cutting is planted in a large pot before going outside. The larger varieties receive a special treatment: they are topped a few times to obtain more flowers later.

22

Grow and gain strength

By then it has rooted sufficiently to go outside for 18 weeks, to further grow and gain strength. There, its leaves change from green to red every winter; a harbinger for the ever-changing hydrangea colour year after year.

23

Cooling down

In the cultivation phase, the bud is formed. If you dissect the bud, you already discover the promise of a beautiful large hydrangea flower in the spring. The plants go inside: into the cold room for at least 6 weeks. During this 'hibernation' the plant loses its leaves after which it sprouts new green leaves.

24
25
26

Ready to bloom

They enter the greenhouse. The strength they have built up during their 'hibernation' is unprecedented: in 10 weeks they grow from the few twigs with the first green leaves to a full-grown plant. In the summer, it takes only 6 weeks. Yet, this is the strongest hydrangea you can have, due to good genetics and our thorough cultivation.

27

In every detail

Thanks to our ingenious automation, we can deliver in any desired order quantity and quality sorting, precisely according to desired height, ripeness, and number of flowers. And thus our gems are recognizable on the shelf, strong from root to flower, and beautiful in every detail.

We are third-generation growers, and we love what we do. This is evident from our meticulous way of working with respect for nature, our human corporate culture that offers everyone room for growth and our commitment to more sustainable cultivation and distribution.

31

We take so much pleasure in what we do that we want to know everything about it and improve our skills every day. To this end, we travel all around the world and keep our knowledge up to date. After all, there is no mastery without eagerness to learn.

32
33

With more than 100 years of experience, we are not afraid to take bold steps: growing new varieties, entering into partnerships and leaving our mark on the market. We dare to discover new things, and to sometimes fail in the process. This is the only way to grow.

34

We don't like to sit still. Every year, when the hydrangea season is over, we cultivate fantastic other products, such as poinsettia, chrysanthemum, carnation, lavender and snapdragon. With the same eye for detail and expertise.

35

Come explore our Hydrangea wonderland, filled with colourful and vibrant varieties in bloom. It's love at first sight.
