Our goals for educational delivery

Welcome

I am delighted to present our vision for the future development of The Marist. We are two years into a multi-year investment plan which, I am sure, will be inspiring for current and prospective parents alike.

A Marist education empowers our smart, savvy girls to fulfil their ambitions and to be trailblazers into the future. Our results reflect that high achievement does not need to be at the expense of happiness.

Our vision shows that we are continuing to embrace and enhance learning in all its many guises, in the classroom, the woodland, the sports pitch and the stage.

Our goal is always to deliver a forward-facing curriculum which prepares our students for life beyond school as global citizens.

Our Scholarship Programme and bespoke VI Form curricula continue apace with enrichment of academic experience, underpinned by our continuing investment in new state of the art facilities.

We are proud to be leading, with other girls schools, an 88% increase in girls taking STEM subjects when compared with mixed schools. Our investment in cutting-edge STEM space supports our expanding provision of specialist teaching in both the Senior and Prep schools.

Forward Facing Curriculum

Continuity of learning from our Prep school to the Senior school is reinforced by specialist teaching and investment in remodeling the operational space to create a welcoming and educationally focussed entrance for our youngest learners.

Our diverse learning opportunities, from the STEM space to the woodland, excite all our younger learners, boys and girls alike, and underpins our Marist Diploma Programme.

Having developed the important life skills of performing arts in the beautiful and historic setting of the Chanel Building, our artists will thrive in the additional flagship performing arts facility.

Development of a tiered grassy quad to link the performing arts with the relocated and refurbished dining room will provide a natural auditorium for spontaneous performances, relaxation and outdoor dining, whilst reinforcing our commitment to student and staff well-being.

The educational project in the Walled Garden which links these spaces will enhance the well-being experience even further.

The pedestrianisation of this extensive area will improve safe access for all and free the space in the Main Hall for specialist extended learning events.

Rejoicing in 55 acres of beautiful private woodland, outdoor learning has always been integral to The Marist life. With the advent of bushcraft, cyclocross and study of the lake ecosystem, the students develop their skills even further in this wonderful facility.

Our Scholarship Programme embraces our environment with plans for a woodland art gallery project, and it is this diversity of approach that leads to our accreditation as a school with a curiosity approach to pupil led learning.

The development of a hydroponics based living wall system on both the Senior and Prep schools integrates with our environmental learning curriculum.

Our new intuitive bus management portal provides parents with real-time visibility of their child's transportation, both for booking and tracking purposes. The new structure means we can expand our network to serve as many parents as would like to use the service.

Community Hub

The Marist is an outward looking school and we place strong community relationships at the forefront of our aspirations, thereby demonstrating for our students what it is to be a citizen of the world.

Development of exciting sports facilities including three covered padel courts and a floodlit full-size astroturf pitch provides opportunities for students, staff, parents, alumni, and our wider community to be part of our community hub.

Along with our fitness suite and pool, plus our expanding girls’ cricket and rugby provision, this forms part of our Sports-For-All Programme and supports our wellbeing goals.

Soon to be the lead school for girls

Combined Cadet Force, affiliated to the Navy, we offer our older students and staff the exciting opportunity to develop water-based skills and leadership qualities under the guidance of the UK’s best cadet coaches.

As a centre for learning and teaching excellence, our vision book would not be complete without our wonderful staff. It has always been, and always will be, vital to The Marist that we recruit staff of the highest calibre. Our results speak to the success of that goal, and this is an area where we continue to invest.

As an employer, our brand builds its foundations on academic excellence within a collaborative Catholic community that develops the pedagogical excellence and wellbeing of our highly committed staff.

We believe your children reap the rewards of that commitment in the holistic education they receive every day.
