In the mid-1960s my father, Raymond L. Lutgert, had the vision to transform a 1.25-mile stretch of beachfront into one of Naples’ most prestigious neighborhoods. Over the past five decades, The Lutgert Companies has set the standard for creative and environmentally responsible development of luxury properties. My family’s vision for passion and excellence runs three generations deep, and continues to produce extraordinary experiences for its customers.

Beginning with its landmark development of Naples’ Park Shore in the 1960s, the company has produced diverse and progressive residential offerings — from luxurious high-rise towers and estate properties to today’s award-winning coastal contemporary homes. Its latest Florida development, Surfsedge, is a new luxury community in Vero Beach.

The company’s rich history is also rooted in North Carolina, where it developed Linville Ridge, a private, gated golf course community in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Established in 1978, The Ridge continues to offer new custom homes. The firm is also expanding its footprint in Charlotte with The Regent at Eastover, a private enclave of 32 luxury residences.

In addition to its residential projects, The Lutgert Companies’ commercial properties have defined Southwest Florida’s landscape. Notable builds include The Village on Venetian Bay, The Promenade at Bonita Bay, the distinctive Northern Trust Building, and Mercato, an upscale, pedestrian-friendly urban hub with residential-over-retail design. Its newest building, the Lutgert Professional Center, has brought a contemporary design to Naples.

While widely known as a luxury developer and builder, the company also maintains a reputation for philanthropic leadership, sound stewardship and community commitment. Ultimately named Park Shore, Raymond Lutgert’s community was the first Planned Unit Development in the state and served as a model for subsequent developments.

1976 Naples, Fla. The first high-rise building in Naples built around a central atrium, La Mer also introduced roll-down storm shutters as a standard feature. It was also the first Lutgert property to sell out before construction was complete.
