“We understand that part of our responsibility in public education is the development of the whole child, and that means coming alongside parents to give them whatever support we can,” he said. “Longview ISD is committed to serving the needs of all our families.”
OUR STAFF! FUN FOR ‘HEART’
Staff awarded $1 million in Judson Middle School performance-based bonuses fundraiser a HUGE hit! Longview ISD Board of Trustees awarded $1 million in incentive pay for high achieving teachers during their Dec. 11 regular meeting. The board unanimously approved Longview Incentive for Teachers (LIFT) pay for performance during the 201617 school year, a marked increase from the $820,000 it paid out last year—more than double the $350,000 paid out to staffers in 2014-15, the first

It was a story as old as time, David vs Goliath: students vs staff in DODGEBALL last month at Judson Middle School! In the second year of this competition, 10 teams rallied in the pay-to-play co-ed tournament. Why pay? The school was raising money for the American Heart Association. “We wanted to have fun the day we were getting out for Thanksgiving break, while also paying it forward,” said William Houff, JMS Principal. “This was also a great opportunity to focus on the importance of physical health and well being.” Students also had to pay to watch the tournament, but it was worth it. The school raised $1,545 for the American Heart Association which beat out their last year total of $1,400. Congratulations Judson! We can’t wait to see how much you raise next year!
