Founded in 2006, The Texas Playboys Baseball Club is an Austin-based social aid and pleasure club and the undisputed leader of the Sandlot Revolution. Named after the King of Western Swing, Bob Wills’, (literal) band of creatives, the club includes the Texas Playboys baseball team and the team’s infamous booster club, the Playboys Nuts. Together, they are an international community of civic-minded creatives — artists, filmmakers, musicians, writers, restaurateurs, rump shakers, taste makers, and purple rainmakers.

The 2022 season was an epic one for your Texas Playboys, garnering media attention in Sports Illustrated and Texas Monthly, among others. The internet was abuzz when Playboys’ co-founder and relief pitcher Jack Sanders gifted Warstic raconteur Jack White his first home run at the Long Time, the Playboys’ field of dreams in far east Austin. The momentous occasion was captured in The Austin Chronicle and on Austin’s KUT.

LIVE EVENTS

The Texas Playboys host an array of year-round, familyfriendly events at The Long Time, including baseball games, holiday bazaars, concerts, cookouts, art shows, fundraisers for local nonprofits, and more. The focal point of this versatile outdoor space is the team’s baseball field. Along with the adjoining stage and concession stand, it is the optimal backdrop for heightening brand awareness to a target audience through handpainted signage and product integration. Frequent off-site events, including a weekly Pilates class and club-led volunteer initiatives throughout Austin, also present unique opportunities for product integration and heightening brand awareness.

The Texas Playboys annually publish a fall and spring edition of their printed newspaper, The LongTimes. Print solutions range from brand advertising to original content integration executed by Playboysʼ founder, artist Jack Sanders, in conjunction with writer and editor Tobin Levy and Cattywampus Press.

Whether utilizing the Texas Playboysʼ digital platform to amplify existing brand messaging or to collaborate on and showcase original marketing material, our digital advertising solutions can be customized to any marketing plan. The Playboys’ utilize two instagram accounts, two websites, and a monthly subscription-based e-newsletter to engage various audiences in their events and initiatives.

SERVICE

The Texas Playboys annual service initiative, #steppinuptotheplate, is enhanced by the support of like-minded sponsors and advertisers who understand the importance of giving back to the local community. The Texas Playboys do this through organized volunteer days, and by heightening awareness of and raising money for local causes*. The latter two are accomplished with game day raffles. Each is organized on behalf a different charity and each features a gift basket brimming with goods generously donated by sponsors, advertisers, Texas Playboys Baseball Club members, friends and even members of the opposing teams! Last season, with a generous matching commitment from Love, Tito’s, the Playboys collectively raised and distributed more than $50,000 among ten non-profits, including HAAM, Austin’s Trinity Center, and Forklift Danceworks, among others. Equally exciting, #steppinuptotheplate has proved itself a replicable model for seamlessly integrating good times with good works, one that has inspired other sandlot teams and social clubs to do the same.

*The charities the Playboys support are nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organizations who value business transparency and are adept at maximizing the impact of a dollar.

While select sponsorships entail partnering with the Texas Playboys on their #steppinuptotheplate campaign, the Playboys ask that all sponsors and advertisers will participate in this unique service initiative, either by nominating prospective donation recipients, through in-kind donations to game-day raffles benefitting a local cause, matching challenges, or by joining the Playboys for volunteer days and community outreach.

Sandlot baseball is an ethos not an expertise. It’s about the beauty of baseball, nice folks, attractive uniforms, hot dogs, real dogs, and, most importantly, good intentions. With that in mind, the Texas Playboys ask that all sponsors and advertisers will participate in the club’s annual service initiative, #steppinuptotheplate, either by weighing in on prospective donation recipients, through in-kind donations to game-day raffles benefitting a local cause, matching challenges, or by joining the Playboys for volunteer days and community outreach. The 2023 season fundraising goal is $75,000, to be distributed among ten nonprofits.

All sponsors and advertisers who contribute to #steppinuptotheplate will be recognized in the Texas Playboys’ biannual printed zine, The Long Times. And in the weeks leading up to each raffle, participants will be acknowledged on the Playboys’ social media channels, on the select non-profit’s socials, and in the Playboys’ monthly e-newsletter, The ShortTimes. The game day announcer will also publicly recognize the raffle contributions, all which will be artfully arranged by Elizabeth Pecore, owner of Basket Case Design, and prominently displayed on the Long Time stage.
