IT WAS like Christmas came early for Ford hardtop enthusiasts when the Hardtop Hustle rolled into Murphys Creek Tavern last Friday. The Ford Cobra Club of Australia, QLD Inc. and All Ford Enthusiasts Club were on their annual membership run, a rolling cruise and called in at Murphys Creek President Troy Postle said it was a diverse group. “Some have had their cars since new and paying only $500 for them, while some were collectors who had paid much more for their pride and joy,” he said.

Pest Management Working representativeGroup Councillor Sean Choat said council has been paying herbicide subsidies into rate accounts for several years now and this is a successful program. “Council has paid bounties for the destruction of 293 wild pigs and dogs in June and July this year for the economy and environment,” he said. “We will be working with people who have previously claimed wild dog and pig bounties from us over the next few months to ensure a smooth change to the process while still strongly managing pest animals across Somerset.” Refundable deposits from hiring cat or wild dog traps will also be credited to a nominated Somerset Regional Council rate account.CrChoat said the shift in how payments are to be made will assist with streamlining payments for producers and contractors. The change was prompted by the closure of Esk’s National Australia Ban branch effective from November 3.

Held by a single family for over three decades, LJ Hooker Principal, Helen Lodge was honoured to facilitate the sale of 376 Silverleaves Rd, Mount Beppo. The low-set home, set on 42 acres, offered a tranquil escape for families seeking a quaint, picturesque weekender nestled in the countryside. Offering magnificent views to the Somerset Ranges and beautiful rural surroundings, the property was especially popular among city dwellers. It featured an open plan living and dining room, relaxing verandahs, two bedrooms, a double garage, grazing paddocks, a bore, dams, a three bay machinery shed and established gardens. The new owner would enjoy complete privacy, overlooking gentle flowing country and rolling hills, moments from Toogoolawah township, Esk and Lake Somerset.Helenwas confident that astute buyers would recognise the value in this parcel of country paradise. Helen said that the key was to deliver a marketing strategy which would showcase the property in the best possible light. “The value in this property is in the land, so it was important for us to highlight the outlook in the copy and showcase visuals of beautiful countryside vistas to appeal to more visual buyers.”
“The eventual buyer was drawn to the size of the land, the privacy, the outlook and the opportunity to add further value through renovations” Helen said.
“Every property has a distinctive point of difference, and once you identify the unique selling proposition, it becomes easy to articulate the value to prospective buyers, and distinguish it from other properties being offered on the market.”

GEMINI It’s a good time to connect, network, negotiate and socialise with like-minded souls within your to contribute your talents to a group dynamic opposition stirs up your creativity and friendship zones, so projects and people will be hard
PISCES It’s a good week to step in and take the initiative with a family member who is facing challenges. If you offer a positive, proactive solution (without being evasive or judgmental) then they to a paid or volunteer job, a practical stepby-step plan could lead to more work in the future. Be inspired by birthday great Beyoncé: “Life isn’t about living without problems. Life is about solving problems.”

SAGITTARIUS as you approach challenges with plenty of than you can deliver (especially with family and friends) is a danger, as you over-estimate your abilities – and underestimate the amount of time you have available. So slow down, taneity with responsibility, and passion with persistence.
CAPRICORN wise words of billionaire (and birthday great) Warren Buffett: “I’ve had periods of my life when I’ve had a bundle of ideas come along, and I’ve had long dry spells.” So be patient, keep things in perspective and keep plugging away. Put your clever Capricorn mind to good use via reading, writing, researching and rehearsing.

TAURUS Avoid being a lone wolf this week, Bulls. If you nurture partnerships, then you can combine your talents on a creative joint project. You’ll have to be patient though as you work towards achieving a long-term goal. But a relationship with a work colleague or family member could cool suddenly, as responsibilities overtake having fun. Don’t stress and worry. If you keep the lines of communication open, then the storm in a teacup will soon blow over.

SCORPIO You’re keen to call the shots but remember there’s a big difference between leading others and just being plain bossy. This week domineering behaviour will lead to unnecessary dramas. So slip on your humility hat, as Venus encourages you to be more consultative and cooperative (especially at home and work). On Zumba classes and green smoothies anyone?
CANCER Being kind of heart and doing good deeds are humanitarian streak. So, it’s a good time to a family member, support a friend in need, do some volunteer work or lend a helping hand in your local community. But thrifty Saturn of living is soaring and bills are increasing, so there may not be as much in the kitty as you LEO Don’t be deceived by glossy, glamorous apbut, this week, you need to look beneath the surface to evaluate a person’s true worth. You’re also keen to take a break from the harsh realities of daily life with some pure escapism as you read a fantasy novel, listen to uplifting music, watch a romantic movie or daydream VIRGO So it’s a good week to dream big dreams and take plenty of positive action. Even in tough inspired by Swedish movie star Ingrid Bergman (who was born on August 29, 1917): “I don’t regret a thing I’ve done. I only regret the things I didn’t do.” But resist the temptation to over-promise and under-deliver, especially at work.

AQUARIUS Aquarians can appear absent-minded and distracted, as you dream about saving the world and then neglect matters closer to home. Serious Saturn is still transiting through your your mind and settle your restlessness. So use the Saturnine energy to power through projects and clear the to-do list. Your motto is from actor Keanu Reeves (who turns 58 on Friday): “The simple act of paying attention can take you a long way.”
Sat Sep 24 Chad Morgan Concert—Gatton Senior Citizens Centre, 1.30pm, $25 entry. 0439030677 Monster Garage Sale— Minden Baptist Church 6am-1pm. Cakes, clothes, tools, furniture, etc. Marburg Dance—7pm, Marburg Show Hall, Cascade Sat Oct Mulgowie1 Fresh Farmers Market - 7am11am, Mulgowie Hall Recreation Grounds, over 50 stalls, hot food, plants, vegetables, live music and lots more. 0417 799 679 Marburg Dance—7pm, Marburg Show Hall, Let s Dance
LIBRA This week’s stars encourage nurturing a longterm relationship or starting a new romance that has the potential to last the distance. But with Saturn still opposing Venus, avoid the tendency to be a super-critical Libran who’s a nit-picking perfectionist. And don’t be afraid of making messy mistakes … and learning from them. As music diva (and birthday great) Beyoncé observes: “If everything was perfect, you would never learn and you would never grow.”

“There are so many younger people today interested in bowls, it used to be an old person’s game,” she said.“The game itself hasn’t changed.“Ithink a lot of the younger people particularly stay because the prizes you get now are money. “We used to get a cup saucer and plate, I’ve got a cupboard full of them, or a Pyrex dish, now it’s money. “And it’s a little more prestigious now than it used to be.”

Ms Morris congratulated Laidley president Dorothea Moyle and the club for reaching the milestone anniversary.“Toknow that a small band of ladies had the vision to form this bowling group a few years prior to the district association, at that wasn’t until 1951, you are to be commended,” she said. “Clubs in these small country settings are a hub of the community such as yours. “You still have the vision, and I do hope that you continue to keep building on that energy as these ladies did before you.”
