Twisted Cork owner responds to “completely disheartening” alleged drug trafficking incident
Nov 12, 2025 | 3:59 PM
PRINCE GEORGE – Following the arrest of a restaurant worker at the Twisted Cork Restaurant for alleged drug trafficking, the restaurant’s owner is speaking out on what he calls a “completely disheartening” situation.
“Obviously this has an impact on staff, the business. We’ve been trying for 16.5 years down here, nothing but trying, so when something like this comes up […] I don’t know if I’ve been more disappoint-
ed, it was a terrible shock to the system and something that I didn’t suspect. I didn’t know, obviously, that was going on, and it affects my staff, my family, my business. It’s devastating information, obviously,” said owner Troy McKenzie. McKenzie says the 46-year-old employee connected with the charges has been dismissed, and while he doesn’t know many details surrounding the investigation, he says he and the restaurant are fully cooperating with the RCMP.
“Obviously the first concern was what has transpired. How did this happen? Who was involved? Those types of things. But, unfortunately, I don’t have any of this information. I’ve cooperated completely with the RCMP in regards to looking at what was going on, but any new information I don’t have yet, so I’m waiting like everybody else to find out what was going on,” McKenzie said.

LEO (July 23-August 22)
You will be determined to do things in your own way. This could cause friction when it comes to what others have expected, especially in the family. It might be necessary to change your mind when it comes to any financial decisions you recently made, especially if there was an element of leisure or pleasure associated with them. You might feel you were too impulsive or other unexpected expenses or decisions by others have arisen. Let things float until late November.

When it comes to anything financial this week it is imperative you are across the detail, however annoying it might be. Personal SAFETY
The most important thing in any situation is to be aware of your surroundings at all times and to trust your instincts. If a certain person, place, or situation makes you feel uncomfortable, get out immediately.
When you are out alone, be prepared for anything that may put you at risk.
Bring a cell phone along if you have one.
Stay alert, stand tall and be confident. Attackers are more likely to choose a person who appears uncertain or afraid.
Be alert and be aware of your surroundings. Take note of the people, businesses and sources of assistance in the area.
Avoid a person or a situation which does not feel safe.
Carry cash and valuables in a front or inside pocket and consider if you need to carry a purse or bag.
Don’t display cash in public.
If you wish to give someone spare change, never pull out your wallet or open your purse. Take change out of your pocket instead.
Use well-lit streets, stay to the middle of the sidewalk and avoid alleyways.
Approach shadowy doorways, shrubbery, or anything that someone could hide behind with extra caution.
If you feel uneasy walking alone, find someone you know who will go out with you, or plan your route along busy streets so that there are always people around you.
If you think someone is following you, call 9-1-1, and then find the nearest place of safety.
If you think a car is following you, immediately turn around, continue walking, and call 9-1-1. Take note of the driver and license plate number and continue to walk in the opposite direction.
Carry a whistle or personal safety alarm so you can alert others if you need help.
Do not carry a weapon for self-defense. Introducing a weapon can increase the severity of an attack, as well as the chance of severe injury to yourself.
If you are verbally harassed, do not respond, keep walking and call 9-1-1 if you fear for your safety.
