Spot the Target event with RCMP
and ICBC
Prince George 2024-06-17 14:49 PDT
Prince George RCMP and ICBC have teamed up to bring a unique and interactive display to Prince George.
On June 19, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., come and join ICBC and RCMP representatives at their Spot the Target display in the Pine Centre mall parking lot, where you will have the chance to see if you can spot all of the potential targets inside a vehicle.
This initiative is aimed at getting drivers to take a closer look at what is being left behind in their vehicle when they park it. Many of the items we leave out for our convenience become potential targets for thieves and increase the likelihood our vehicles will be broken into for these items, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
People visiting the display will get to look inside a parked car to see how many potential targets they can find. Those participating in the event will have the opportunity to enter their name into a raffle to win a prize.
7. Some people are convinced there's a monster living in a lake in British Columbia.
TAURUS
(Apr. 21-May 20)
A clearer vision of where you should head in the future is possible, though it may take the next 4 weeks to put a complete picture in place. If you know somebody in a situation that has knowledge which could help you, get in touch. They will be willing to help and may even recommend others to you or you to others.
LEO (July 23-August 22)
You need time to yourself to think, most particularly about anything that needs to be wound up in some way. There are certain obligations you don’t have a problem with but as soon as you feel you are being manipulated it will annoy you. Even if there is not much you can do about it right now, at least you will know for the future.
SCORPIO (Oct.23-Nov21)
You might wonder if somebody else wantstotakethesamedirectionsinthe future as you or whether they expect you to focus on their goals. They can be more inclined to go with the moment. When it comes to taking any sort of risk, you need to be careful. You will do better by maintaining a more conservative approach.
GEMINI (May
21-June 20)
Be cautious of being over confident when it comes to dealing with anything associated with finances, especially when it comes to loans. A person who has some authority in this area can be helpful and it would pay to take their advice on board. If you are not sure about new information, find some quiet time to yourself to carefully go over it.
VIRGO
(August 23-Sept.22)
There will be somebody who is quite happy to accept things important to you, even if this means they need to take on some of the responsibility. It will be up to you toa make this clear. Don’t just presume they recognise what might be too much for you to handle. This can open up different directions for you in the long term.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb.18)
You might need to pay attention to the little things you spend money on. The main thing is to get better control of impulse spending, however small. Getting a good routine in place when it comes to your health or general fitness can appeal to you now. You can be more determined to stick with this and certainly could for 2 years.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov.22-Dec.21)
Anybody who is mysterious is better put to one side for the moment when it comes to anything important. There is a lot you need to deal with on a regular basis. In this situation there will be people that you know where you stand with them. It is through them that you can continue to maintain some sort of underlying security.
PISCES
(Feb. 19-March 20)
Committing yourself to something that is not necessarily appealing but sticking with it can result in feeling a great deal of pleasure in your mind. This could result in a big surprise to you. You can then become more mentally focussed and feel more confident of mind in any situation where you need to express your thoughts or ideas.
CANCER
(June 21-July 22)
Something could become clear about another person, particularly in any situation that involves you with a group of people. This could equally apply to your friendships. You are in a good position to make practical decisions when it comes to what would work long term. You need to enjoy the commitment you make.
LIBRA (Sept.
23-Oct.22)
If you have been diligent with more detailed work that has been necessary or in getting a good routine in place, you can now reap some benefits from that. It might also bring some recognition from someone that matters. An underlying sense of fulfilment can give you a sense of security. Ignore those who might be critical.
CAPRICORN
(Dec. 22-Jan.19)
Some very sensible discussions can take place with another person. They are more likely to be seeking your opinion, mainly because they respect the practical way you look at things. There could be others who might attempt to encourage you to embrace greater adventure in your life. You are unlikely to think that now is the time.
ARIES
(March 21-April 20)
You might need to take on some extra obligations over the next month. The opportunity to get something better organised, that could include home or family matters may present itself. Someone could make these suggestions to you. Your initial thought might be to reject the idea; however it would be worth consideration.
8. There's a $1 million coin that's the same size as a motorcycle tire.
9. Remember: politeness costs nothing in Canada.

CANADIAN SLANG DEFINITIONS
Tim Hortons: Timmie’s, TWO TWO, and Timmie’s Run: Tim Hortons is a local and extremely trendy Canadian coffee chain, so much so that people have created many Tim Hortons-related slang terms. For starters, Canadians refer to Tim Hortons as "Timmies," so it has become the chain’s unofficial name. When visiting your local Timmies, you'll find that a popular order there is the “Two Two," a drip coffee with two creams and two sugars, so make sure you have that memorised whenever you visit. Oh, and if you’re working and studying with a group of friends and collecting Timmie's orders for your friends or co-workers, then you’re going for a “Timmie’s Run," which refers to collecting your friends' or co-workers’ Timmie's orders.
Pop: When we say “pop,” we’re not referring to the music genre but rather the Canadian version of a soda drink. The word soda is used in the US, while the terms “fizzy drink” or “pop are” used in Canada, the UK, and Ireland.
KD: KD is a local mac and cheese brand that stands for “Kraft Dinner.” It is so popular that sometimes mac and cheese is also referred to as “KD.”
Loonie and Toonie: These refer to one and two Canadian dollars. The name “Loonie” comes from the loon, a type of bird featured on the one-dollar coin. A “toonie” is simply two loonies.
Beaver Tail and Poutine: There is no slang involved in these terms, but they are iconic local terms. "Beaver Tails” are Canadian pastries dusted with cinnamon and sugar. “Poutine,” on the other hand, is fries topped with gravy and cheese curds.
