SPECIALTYPROGRAMS CHRISTMAS IN JULY

On Friday, July 20th, in partnership with The Little Lighthouse Foundation, Hasbro will brought the Be Fearless Be Kind campaign to the children of the Miami Children’s Initiative summer camp as well as Hasbro toys and games for its 2nd Annual Christmas in July event! The children of Miami Children’s Initiative in Liberty City took the Be Fearless Be Kind pledge, and to celebrate they took home a Hasbro toy! In addition, volunteers from Hasbro and LLF played games with the children from MCI, all in the Christmas spirit! Thank you Hasbro for making this happen!

SPECIALTYPROGRAMS BACK TO SCHOOL

For its Back to School initiative, the Little Lighthouse Foundation bought 200 backpacks, through funds raised from the LLF Saks Fashion Show and donations, to distribute to kids from partner schools at Perez Art Museum Miami. On that day, with the help of more than 50 volunteers, LLF distributed backpacks along with donated school supplies to get kids to help kickstart the year. Thank you to all the volunteers, and donors who made this possible!

CHILDREN’S HALLOWEEN PARTY

The Little Lighthouse Foundation’s 4th Annual Children’s Halloween Party took place on Saturday, October 27th from 1:30-4:00 PM at Treasure Island Elementary School in North Bay Village. Hundreds of children from LLF’s Partner Facilities including Chapman Partnership, Lotus House, Overtown Youth Center, Carrfour Supportive Housing among others, were given costumes and bussed out for the event. Over 100 volunteers assisted in providing games, activities and entertainment

for the children! Activities included games and treats by Hasbro Toys, activations by The Miami FC and Focused Movement Academy​ , face painting by Front Management​, tattoo station by SAP, sponsored activities by Plaza Construction, candy by Colombina,​food by Subway, refreshments by CORE,​and music, games and entertainment by The Fantastic Party Factory! Thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteers for helping us create a #HalloweenForAll!

SPECIALTYPROGRAMS HOLIDAY TOY DISTRIBUTION

The Little Lighthouse Foundation held its 9th Annual Holiday Toy Distribution on Saturday, December 15th, 2018 from 1:30-4:00 PM at the North Shore Park & Youth Center. Over 5,000 toys were collected with the help of our partners at Hasbro and Samba Sol and over 75 drop box locations around South Florida. At the event, over 150 LLF volunteers distributed toys to 900 children and families from Lotus House, Carrfour, Chapman Partnership, Communities in Schools, LaSalle Educational Center, Miami Beach Boys & Girls Club, Miami Bridge, Excel

Kids Academy, Miami Children’s Initiative, Project UPSTART, Special Olympics, Overtown Youth Center and North Shore Youth Center! LLF also distributed toys to hundreds of children from Big Brothers Big Sisters, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Holtz Children’s Hospital, Muss Park, Flamingo Park, and His House. In total, over 2,000 children received gifts from LLF’s efforts within the community.

PROGRAMHIGHLIGHTS BEAUTY ALL AROUND

The Little Lighthouse Foundation’s Beauty All Around program provides a variety of therapeutic activities to Lotus House women and children focused on inner & outer beauty and wellness. Volunteers work with the children doing crafts and activities while, at the same time, providing the women with services such as beauty treatments, massages, meditation and more.

PROGRAMHIGHLIGHTS JUST FOR KICKS

The Little Lighthouse Foundation’s Just For Kicks program hosts Enoch Showunmi, a pro soccer player, as he leads training clinics for the youth at the Overtown Youth Center! Volunteers get to engage with youth in learning soccer basics, running drills, scrimmaging, and ultimately creating a love for the sport.

The Little Lighthouse Foundation’s Hearts & Stars Gala: The Temple of RA, Egyptian themed party took place on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Miami Design District’s Jungle Plaza/Palm Court in Miami, Florida. Guests enjoyed a top shelf open bar featuring Ketel One​Vodka, wine and Italian sparkling wines from Tita Italia Wine & Delicatessen, STARR rum​, Fishers Gin​, Tequila Revolution, beer from Biscayne Bay Brewing Company and food tastings from some of South Florida’s top restaurants and caterers including Habitat, Pizza Dude​ , Delicious Catering Services​, Amour de Miami, Eat Clean, Chill-N Nitrogen Ice Cream, Cake Lounge Miami, Barsecco, Coffee Hub Café, Fresh Meal Plan, Jack’s Miami,

Roberta’s​, La Moderna Miami, Xochimex Cantina Grill, and Paris 6 Miami. In addition, guests enjoyed FIJI Water​, Harmless Harvest coconut water, Fusion Energy Drink and LaCroix Water sparkling water, as well as an interactive photo experience by the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and a performance by The Bodyshop Experience. Camila Banus and Jonathan Duerr hosted and music was provided by Rony Seikaly with opening sets by Patrick Pizzorni and Marcos Noel. LLF Year in Review

The Keener Foundation for Giving (“KFG”) has partnered with the Little Lighthouse Foundation for the last 4 years to help raise money for LLF’s programming initiatives. At the 2018 Hearts and Stars Gala, KFG pledged to match up to $50,000 during a live fundraising event. Guests made their donations live during the event and later joined Justin Keener of the Keener Foundation for Giving for a celebration toast. We are proud to continue to partner with Justin Keener and KFG in future events, helping the Little Lighthouse Foundation guide the way to little smiles.

SEASON OPENING PARTY: BLANC DE BLANCS

The Little Lighthouse Foundation’s Season Opening Party: Blanc de Blancs took place on Saturday, December 1st, 2018 from 2pm to 7pm at Island Gardens on Watson Island (formerly home of the Deck). Guests enjoyed an open bar including Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Tequila Mi CAMPO, Barcelo Rum, High West Bourbon, Michelob Ultra Beer, and an ice cold frosé machine, as well as LaCroix Water, FIJI Water and Fusion Energy Drink. The event also featured delicious tastings from some of Miami’s top restaurants and caterers including Pubbelly Miami Beach, Amour de Miami, Maska Miami and Delicious Catering Services.

Music and vibe was provided by Vanjee, Nadav Vee, and opening set by Marcos Noel. A popup fashion show and store from Notorious Swimwear took place from 3 PM to 5 PM. The Little Lighthouse Foundation held its 9th Annual Holiday Party Presented by Tita Italian Wines & Delicatessen on Friday, December 14th, 2018 from 9 PM to 1 AM at West Midtown on the 7th Floor Terrace of the Hyde Midtown. Guests enjoyed an open bar including Tito’s Vodka and Tita Italia wines and Italian sparkling wines, as well as, mocktails by LaCroix Sparkling Water and music was provided by Marcos Noel. One lucky guest won an incredible raffle prize including items from Tita Italia, Saks Fifth

The Little Lighthouse Foundation’s Lucky Hour series is a bi-monthly happy hour to bring together our volunteers and supporters at some of the best venues in the city. Guests enjoy passed appetizers and sponsored Do Good Feel Good cocktails as they learn about upcoming opportunities to get involved in our community and raise funds for various programs. This years’ venues included Doheny Room at Delano Hotel and two special edition Lucky Hours. All were sponsored by LaCroix, Lucky Player Vodka, Casa Noble Tequila and more who helped guests stay refreshed!

This year The Little Lighthouse Foundation held its first annual Soiree Piscine Pool Party and Shangri La Mansion. The event was a success with over 400 guests, all donating towards our Beauty All Around program! Guests enjoyed cocktails and lite bites from our sponsors, while basking in the Miami sun.

SAKS FASHION SHOW The LLF Saks Fashion Show took place at Saks Fifth Avenue in Brickell City Centre on Friday July 20th from 7-9 PM. The event benefited LLF’s Back to School initiative. LLF supporters indulged in complimentary cocktails from Lucky Player Vodka, MD Alcantara blue wine, Fashion Prosecco, and Ponte Vecchio Sangria, mocktails from LaCroix Sparkling Water and light bites by Amour de Miami! VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

RECIPIENTS: Alexandra Van Gemerden, Alicia Matho, Gigi Jeffries, Andrea Minski and Fabiana Perreira The Volunteer of the Year award is reserved for the LLF volunteer who selflessly donates their time to better those less fortunate, while being an upstanding citizen in our community. In 2018 LLF, for the first time ever, acknowledged five Volunteers of the Year: Alexandra Van Gemerden, Alicia Matho, Gigi Jeffries, Andrea Minski and Fabiana Perreira! Together, these volunteers pioneered LLF’s Kids 4 Kids program, 20

whereby children are able to take initiative and learn how to give back. Through LLF Kids 4 Kids, we are helping to develop the next generation of philanthropists while continuing to make an impact within our community. These ladies have pioneered this program by making LLFKids4Kids a program of the children for the children, and we thank them for all their efforts in creating this incredible program.

LLFSPOTLIGHT SHINING LIGHT AWARD RECIPIENT: Ricky Patel

The Shining Light award is reserved for a member of the community who most embodies the spirit of philanthropy, while acting out the mission of LLF. The 2018, Shining Light Award Recipient was Ricky K. Patel. He is revered in equal measure for his legal expertise, as well as his passionate work giving back to those who need it most. His practice focuses on a wide array of issues, including class-action litigations, cases for celebrities and athletes requiring crisis management, and representing children who suffered medical negligence from the healthcare

system. Mr. Patel is extremely charitable in his spare time, holding leadership positions, donating over 1,500 hours of community service and investing funds in charities such as Habitat for Humanity, VAWA (Violence Against Women’s Act), Haitian Orphanage, Fashion Gives Back, Puerto Rico Relief, St. Thomas University, School of Law, American Red Cross and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees. Ricky has generously supported LLF for years and are proud and honored to have him as our 2018 Shining Light Award Recipient!
