RIDDLE OF MYSTERY WOUNDING BLOODED BRIT FOUND IN TORREVIEJA ALEX TRELINSKI
A
72 year old British man was rushed to Torrevieja Hospital on Tuesday after he was found lying in a pool of blood on a street in the San Luis Urbanisation of the city. Authorities say that he had eight knife wounds and are investigating what happened, with a knife being discovered right next to him on the ground. It was unclear whether the wounds had been self-inflicted or the man had been a victim of a vicious attack. The man, identified by the initials of MHB, was spotted prostrate on the pavement on A v e n i d a Baracaldo by a city bus driver on the Torrevieja G bus route, who noticed the blood-soaked torso close to a bus stop at the junction of Calle Chiva at about 11.00am. The driver got out of his vehicle and called the emergency
services, with a SAMU ambulance team taking the injured Brit to Torrevieja Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, with initial reports stating that he was “in a serious condition.” The man suffered seven stab wounds to the left hand side of his chest and one to the abdomen, and was conscious when help arrived. The police though were unable to get any clear information on what exactly had happened and how long he been on the pavement before the driver of the hourly bus service called the authorities. The road is normally busy in an area which has a high number of British, Scandinavian, and German residents, and there was some surprise that nobody else came to help the man or report the incident before the appearance of the bus driver. The Guardia Civil are working on two theories that either the man was suffering from depression and somehow stabbed himself eight times, that he had been assaulted.
