One of the significant milestones during Mustafa's tenure was the separation of elementary students and the construction of a dedicated elementary building. The new facility and specialized elementary staff created a nurturing and age-appropriate learning environment, enhancing the overall educational experience for young students.

Promoting Organizational Growth Mustafa's visionary leadership also spearheaded organizational growth by

expanding administrative and district personnel to support the school in education, finance, and accountability.

The infusion of additional staff resources streamlined management and support functions, allowing educators to focus on delivering high-quality instruction. This expansion significantly bolstered the school's efficiency and effectiveness.

Actively seeking stakeholder feedback through surveys and meetings was another significant achievement. school year, a total of 386 online and in-person home visits were conducted, with an impressive 83 percent teacher participation rate. These visits facilitated connections with families, allowing a deeper understanding of their unique circumstances and establishing a collaborative partnership in supporting their child's education.

To address the specific needs of students requiring targeted support, an Equity Council was established. This council comprises diverse stakeholders, including parents, teachers, administrators, and community members. The committee plays a crucial role in providing valuable feedback and recommendations aimed at effectively addressing educational equity and inclusion.

Leveraging principles from Character.org, initiatives promoting the development of positive character traits and values in students were implemented. This involved fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity through house initiatives, wherein students were grouped into smaller communities within the school. These efforts encouraged student collaboration, empathy, and respect, thereby creating a supportive and inclusive environment.

Recognizing the importance of social and emotional support, Mustafa ensured the hiring of two dedicated counselors to provide additional assistance to students. These counselors offer guidance, counseling, and resources to support students' social and emotional well-being.

Working closely with students, families, and teachers, they address any barriers to learning and ensure that every student has the necessary support to succeed.

Enriching Educational Opportunities with Collaborations Under Mustafa Ayik's leadership, Albuquerque School of Excellence has actively sought collaborations and partnerships with schools, communities, and organizations to enrich educational opportunities for its students. A strategic partnership with the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce was established to provide diverse opportunities for students. The partnership aimed to enhance students' understanding of various career pathways and foster their professional development.

Collaborating with the AFRL STEM Academy and Explora, a local science center, Mustafa aimed to promote STEM education. Through engaging clubs, electives, and field trips, students were provided with hands-on experiences and exposure to STEMrelated fields. This partnership effectively heightened students' interest and proficiency in STEM subjects, preparing them for potential careers in these fields.

Adapting to Uphold the Vision Throughout his tenure, Mustafa Ayik encountered and adeptly navigated various challenges while remaining steadfastly aligned with the vision of the Albuquerque School of Excellence.

One of the significant challenges faced was the inadequate facility to accommodate all grade levels before the 2020-2021 school year.

Mustafa responded to this challenge by prioritizing the construction of an elementary building and transferring elementary students to the new facility.
