n an ordinary day, Rebecca D’Amato (33 and an event planner at Tate and an independent wedding planner) and Frans Kobus (37 and operations director at Benugo) love to entertain—so when it came to their nuptials, naturally they went all out. Not to mention, she does this for a living! With a guest list that extended from Shanghai to Seattle, the London-based lovebirds (who met working in Washington, DC, nine years earlier) decided on Great Britain for their wedding weekend. Drawing on Rebecca’s event experience, they planned nearly the entire thing themselves. The wedding party’s elegant attire was totally in tune with their historic venue and the sparkly details were echoed in the pink, black, white and gold décor. They also incorporated English touches, like a custom crest and Downton Abbey–esque bridesmaid gowns. The result was a pretty bash with just the right amount of glam. —MO

the bridal party style Rebecca wore an ivory strapless ball gown with a lace and organza ruched bodice, full tulle skirt and detachable beaded sash. Her bridesmaids provided the perfect contrast in sleek sequined sheaths. “I gave them a couple of sparkly options and let them pick their favorite,” she says. “I wanted their dresses to reflect the theme we were going for—sophisticated and fun.” the details At the reception, Rebecca and Frans’s chairs were accented with lush garden roses and peonies in shades of pink. the child attendants Frans’s niece and nephew were dressed in mini-versions of the wedding party attire for their flower girl and ring bearer duties.
