Even though I work in the bridal business, I needed help. Being in the industry actually made planning more difficult—you know too much. Our planner, Steven Moore of Sinclair & Moore Events, has helped me get started by sharing his knowledge of flowers and what will work best for my vision.
…but narrowing it down wasn’t the hardest part. clockwise from left: Kurt Wilberding; @weddingpr; giving tree; @deshartsock; kate mathis
It was choosing a date that worked for our bridal party, schedules and the venue.
I’m taking notes from two Kates— Moss and Middleton. I was inspired by Kate Moss’s wedding, with its ethereal look, and Kate Middleton’s classic, timeless and iconic one.

I’m all about vintage style. My wedding is an extension of my personality. I’m always inspired by nature and vintage details. I like to keep things free-spirited with an effortless elegance.
We divided responsibilities. Chris is more realistic and logical, while I’m a dreamer. I’m good with the designing, and he’s better at budgeting.
Our guest list is surprisingly small… We plan on having 150 people. It was definitely more difficult for Chris to narrow down the guest list because he has so many friends from his [minor-league] baseball days. We didn’t want to invite anyone we hadn’t talked to in two years. Plus, having less people helps with budgeting!
We’re skipping some traditions. We won’t do the garter toss or a choreographed dance to “Y.M.C.A.”—ha!
