Anthony Tyrone Jones peacefully passed away on February 24, 2025, at his home in Atlanta, GA surrounded by his wife and daughters. Born on February 5, 1971, he was 54 years old. Anthony lived a life devoted to his family, community, and faith, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.

A proud 1989 graduate of Fulton High School, Anthony later pursued his passion for the culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta.

His love for cutting hair began in his teenage years to earn money while doing something he enjoyed. This early venture ignited his entrepreneurial spirit. He started by cutting hair for family, friends, and neighbors in his community, which ultimately led him to become a master barber, often working seven days a week with relentless dedication.

In the early 1990s, Anthony discovered a passion for the culinary arts while working at Lapeep. He later held positions at Fernbank Museum as a Dining Hall Assistant Manager and at Coca Cola as a Food Service Supervisor. It was during this time that he enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu, where his passion for catering flourished. He then joined Carlyle’s Catering, further honing his craft.

A true entrepreneur, Anthony established several successful businesses, including “Dirty South BBQ,” “Cut and Catered Your Way,” and “Cleveland Avenue Café & Grill.” For over 20 years, he owned and operated the “Cleveland Ave Barbershop,” a beloved cornerstone of the community. His firsthand experience as a small business owner fueled his enthusiasm for supporting and uplifting others on their entrepreneurial journeys.

Anthony’s love for sports began in childhood. He participated in bodybuilding, wrestling, basketball, football, and many other athletic endeavors. The Joseph Whitehead Boys & Girls Club played a pivotal role in shaping his talents and provided the mentorship that would inspire him to pay it forward.

For more than 30 years, Anthony dedicated his time to coaching and mentoring youth. He founded, played for, and coached the “Dirty South Basketball Team” (Men’s Adult League) and later coached the Rosel Fann Raiders Youth Basketball Team. His passion for football was just as strong Rosel Fann Raiders, and the Georgia Eagles. More than just a coach, Anthony was a mentor and father figure, offering guidance that changed lives.

In addition to being a husband, father, entrepreneur, coach, and mentor, Anthony was a philanthropist. His contributions to t community were profound, organizing successful fundraisers, back and warmth were felt by all who knew him. Always selfless, he made it his mission to support others in any way possible.

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Thomas Gordon and Alfred Doris Jones Sr., and his brother, Alfonso Walker. He is survived by his loving wife, Chrissy D. Jones, and their children: Cari, Quavious, Madison, and London. His cherished grandchildren, Zoey and Givenchy, also carry on his legacy. He is additionally survived by his siblings: Robert “Ge Thomas, Shemeik (Tracy) Gordon, Antonio Walker, Patricia Hughes, Mark Walker, Keith Walker, Alfred Jones, Freddie Gordon, Lee Walker (Albert) and Tracey Gordon, along with a host of nieces, nephews, close friends, and mentees.

While we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life lived with integrity, compassion, and a profound impact on those around him. Anthony’s legacy of love, dedication, and community service will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

In 1995, meeting at Fernbank Museum was no coincidence. You used to joke that I was the "hardest" woman you ever met, I was your biggest challenge. You found a way through friendship, patience, and knowing my love language. You became my best friend, bringing me food at work and my grandma’s house, sharing endless conversations on her porch. You said I was the first person you could tell everything without judgment or wanted anything from you.

When you finally professed your love, I thought you were joking we always said we’d just be friends, God had other plans. Honestly, I think I loved you from the start.

Baby, our journey has been nothing short of extraordinary filled with highs, lows, and unwavering love. When we made it official in 1996, we promised to share everything and take on life as a team. People thought you kept secrets, but they never knew the truth we faced everything together. No matter what, I fussed, cussed, and sometimes cried, but in the end, we always figured it out TOGETHER.

Our love was real, and when love is real, God teaches you how to heal. We traveled the world (South Africa, Brazil, Paris, Dubai, Tokyo, Jamaica, Mexico, Hawaii and so many islands on cruises), lived out our wildest dreams, and supported each other, flaws and all. You embraced my spending habits, and I embraced your unwavering love for helping even when you snuck them into the house. When, I finally grew to love some of them as my own, I would see that big smile on your face. I because you wanted them to feel the same love

These last three years were the hardest. The day of your diagnosis, my world shattered. But you fought through surgery, chemo, and even pneumonia, never losing your strength. The nurses would say you were "Superman". You were the strongest patient they had seen. I prayed for a miracle, researched endlessly, and tried everything to keep you here.

But when you told me, “Baby, cancer is taking over,” I knew. You were so calm, making sure I knew the plans you had in place, telling me to stay strong. The night before you kept calling my name, I whispered, “We will be okay,” and you nodded. That was our final conversation.

be okay. You taught me to be strong, even when I felt weak. I know you’re still here, guiding me, watching over us. So, this isn’t
