The drums are beating again….and we’ve got some thumping good In fact, the jungle hasn’t rumbled so much since Muhammad Ali beat out a rhythm on poor George Foreman in Zaire in 1974. But that was in our George’s embryo days - before he started cooking on gas and then selling 100 million of those grills of his. And of course, long before I was born (OK, I’m a liar). So what do we have inside for you? Well, let’s just say that things have changed and it’s very much a surprise package. But I can tell you that we’ve got a Big Interview with….you’ve guessed it, George Foreman. Now I don’t know about you, but George never struck me as the type to And there aren’t too many people on this earth who have punched out a more successful living. Whether it’s news, views, features or fun that you’re seeking, we’ve got it all. Lots of laughs and lots of information. In fact, something for everyone. A bit like our sister publication The Courier, really. But that’s another story. Happy reading.

The Editor STATEMENT Jungle Drums, The Courier and our parent company, Rainbow Media Costa Blanca SL, feel it necessary to make a statement in this month’s issue regarding malicious gossip being circulated by a third party regarding our ownership of Jungle Drums magazine.

Dave Bull was one of three investors behind the launch of The Courier – his investment being Jungle Drums magazine, which at that time, he owned. The other two directors both made cash investments and Mr Bull was appointed launch Editor of the newspaper.

On July 5, 2011, Mr Bull resigned for reasons he has not fully divulged – and has since shown increasing bitterness towards the board of Rainbow Media and He now seems to be on a campaign to discredit this company and its directors in any way he can, using ‘facts’ that are demonstrably untrue. Jungle Drums is part of Rainbow Media, something Mr Bull was happy to accede to when the partnership was formed. However, in resigning, he seemingly thought he could reclaim ownership of the magazine and carry on as if the partnership had never existed. There are several other elements to the story and we assure readers that The Courier has done nothing to warrant these increasingly vitriolic and libellous attacks. But when it comes to cock and Bull allegations, there is only so much we can take.

The French all wear berets, the Germans are very punctual, the English can't cook and the Australians all wear cork hats. At least these are the popular myths about these countries. The truth is usually a long way from the popular belief. Here are some of the most famous myths about Spain exposed for what they are - if not complete fabrications, then at least distorted versions of the truth. Myth #1: La Sagrada Familia is Barcelona's Cathedral Barcelona's cathedral is called Cathedral of Santa Eulalia and can be found at Plaça de la Seu, near the Gothic Quarter. La Sagrada Familia, the faGaudi, is another building entirely. You say cathedral, I say basilica - does it matter when everyone knows what they're talking about? Yes, it does: if you ask your hotel the way to Barcelona cathedral, when you want to go to see La Sagrada Familia, you'll end up disappointed, as Barcelona cathedral has nothing on La Sagrada Familia

Myth #2: Paella is a Seafood Dish Paella is a rice dish. It can have seafood in it, just as pizza can, but (also as with pizza) you can put any 'topping' on it you like. The Margarita of paella is paella Valenciana, which was invented in the are a bit of a rarity! Paella Valenciana is made up of chicken, pork and rabbit, though in older (poorer) times, snails were often included.

Sport Wrong on two counts – for a start, it's not a sport truly national. It is true that you will encounter bullrings throughout Spain, but these were largely built during the reign of Franco (the dictator that ruled Spain from 1939 until 1975), a ruler who had a particular image of Spain that he wanted to promote. Spain's real national sport is futbol (or soccer).

Myth #4: The Drink of Choice in Spanish Bars is Sangria Sangria is a party drink, like a tropical punch at one of our cocktail parties. It exists for one purpose – to get everyone drunk cheaply. That isn't to say that it can't be made with a bit of loving care and attention, but there is no 'traditional' recipe. 95% of people drinking sangria in bars are tourists and the bar owners know it and will charge you accordingly.

Myth #5: Flamenco is a Popular Dance in Spain Flamenco often contains dancing, but it isn't predominantly a dance. Flamenco contains four main elements: the guitar, the vocals, the dancing and las palmas (hand claps). In fact, of the four disciplines, the dancing is the part that is the most easily dropped.

most spectacular. But if you're visiting Spain at any other time of year, Malaga should be well down your list of cities to visit.

Myth #8: Spanish Food is Hot & Spicy, like Mexican Like in the story of the princess and the pea, put a drop of tabasco in a pot of stew for twenty people and a Spaniard will wave his hand in front of his con carne. Well, that's a slight exaggeration, but not by much – many in Spain genuinely think that

Myth #6: Bring Sunscreen, not an Umbrella, no Matter When You Visit

cante' (spicy). I am amazed when I occasionally encounter genuinely spicy food in Spain and I wonder who (other than the tourists) are actually eating it!

A friend of mine brought sunscreen when he came to visit me in central Spain in October. He ended up buying an umbrella. Spain is not the tropical paradise that many think it is (though global warming is pushing it in that direction). During autumn and winter, Galicia can expect rain every other day, while Madrid and the cities to its west and north can get exceptionally cold in the winter.

Tapas are a way of eating food, not a type of food. Anything can be tapas. Paella, cous cous, shrimps, brochette, even hamburgers. A tapa is a small dish, usually taken with a drink (sometimes it comes free, sometimes you pay for it). You can stick to one bar and order a series of tapas to go with your drinks, but it's far more proper (and fun) to bar hop ( or tapear in Spanish) and sample the culinary

parts of Spain.

Myth #7: Malaga is a Must-See City in Spain

other cities (such as Seville, Granada and Madrid. And yes, Malaga's summer festival is one of Spain's

Myth #10: Tipping is Expected in Spain No, no, no and NO! Probably the myth most perpetuated by guide books and Web sites about Spain. Tipping is not common in Spain, particularly for cheap meals. The Spanish might leave change from a 50 euro bill if the meal has been good, but they rarely dig into their pockets to give the waiter or waitress any extra.

August 2011 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport

Which cars we'd buy with the EuroMillion jackpot

We've all thought about it: what cars would we buy if money were no object? But very few people get the chance to indulge this fantasy. Even the average lottery winner with a few million in the bank probably couldn't justify buying and running a £1.2 million Bugatti Veyron. But Colin and Chris Weir from Largs, Ayrshire, have just scooped Europe's biggest lottery prize, giving them carte blanche to buy whatever the heck they like. Here's what we'd suggest they do, and why. And it's not just a list of the ten most expensive cars we can think of, either.

Car: Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Cost: £1,200,000 Reason for buying: Because we can. Yes, we might as well get this one over with. But you would, wouldn't you? Bugatti doesn't make the original vertible Grand Sport for around £1.2m. Obviously we'd hire a high-speed bowl for a weekend, too.

Car: Unimog U4000 Cost: £75,000 (plus tax) Reason for buying: Driving over stuff, like our custom off-road track - and cars we don't like.

Car: Austin Maestro Cost: £500 Reason for buying: To park in our huge garden and drive over in our...

The Mercedes Unimog is an icon, celebrating its 60th birthday this year, and an absolute beast. It has eight forward gears, six reverse gears, can climb 70 percent gradients and storm through unbelievable depths of water. It's basically a cross between Spider-Man, a dolphin and Chuck Norris. The ultimate SUV.

Car: Lamborghini Miura Cost: £400,000 (approx) Reason for buying: It's the most beautiful car ever made. Fact. Similar in principle to the above: you win the lottery, you must buy a Lamborghini. A new Aventador (in bright orange) would be tempting, as would a wedge-shaped Countach, but for us the historic Miura is the one. It was We'd buy one, then go and re-create the opening scene from 'The Italian Job', but hopefully without the resultant crash.

Car: Range Rover Supercharged Autobiography Cost: £72,545 Reason for buying: Because we can't take the Unimog to Ikea. You've won the lottery - you have to have a gas guzzler. We could have chosen a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, or a BMW X6 M, but the one with the ludicrously long name is also the one with the best cabin and the smallest sense of unnecessary consumption.

Car: Porsche Cayman S Cost: £47,604 Reason for buying: Because we're lottery winners, not The Stig.

Car: Ferrari 458 Italia Cost: £173,132 Reason for buying: Because it's absolutely awesome. You can't win the lottery and not buy a Ferrari.

Yes, the 911 is an icon, and yes, a 911 GT2 or GT3 RS are more obvious choices for the big money lottery winner. But really, for the regular driver, doing regular driving, the Cayman S is probably the best handling car on sale at the moment. It's as quick as you need a car to be, and it's comfortable enough to use more than once a week unlike the most expensive Porsches.

Car: Ford Transit SportVan Cost: £20,000 Reason for buying: We'll be buying vast quantities of furniture and plasma screen TVs. Everyone has a friend who has a friend who can get a Transit, so why not cut out the middlemen and just get one. The best Tranny Ford has ever done is the limited edition SportVan, complete with twin exhausts, bonnet stripes and 18-inch alloys. Oh, and a 128bhp diesel engine. Hmm, we'd probably swap that out for the 301bhp turbo engine from the Focus RS.

Car: Volkswagen Golf GTI Cost: £25,060 Reason for buying: Sometimes you just don't want the attention. can do, but it's also one of the most conspicuous. The Golf GTI would be our 'everyday' car for its quality, comfort, decent turn of pace and real-world acceptability.

Car: DeLorean DMC-12 Cost: £15,000 Reason for buying: The distinct possibility of time travel, for the price of a Ford Fiesta. It was absolutely rubbish, but because of 'Back to the Future' and 88mph, the DeLorean is one of the most iconic to put in a barn until time travel becomes a reality. Then we'll convert it into a time machine and go back to the day we won the lottery, before we ruined our lives.

FORMER World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Olympic gold medalist, minister, pitchman, husband and father are just a few of George Foreman’s titles. Now a massive business icon, Foreman graduated from the streets to grills to eco-friendly cleaning products. In this fascinating interview, George and his son and assistant, George IV ‘bigwheel’, talk about what inspires the man himself - and what's next for the Foreman brand. Did you ever dream this level of success as a child? Who inspired you as a child? George: Not at all, you don't think this level of success even existed. I dreamed big, wanted to be on the front page of a magazine. As a teen I thought about being a boxing champion. As a child, always had something in me. I looked up and decided I want more, more, more. My mother was such a hard worker and I wanted more things for her. Knew I needed lots of money and wanted her to enjoy things in life. It occurred to me as a young man I would need to be a great, well a successful athlete. Inspiration from watching my mom work so hard and wanted to pay her back. Tell me what the transition from boxer to business mogul was like for you. At this point, do you see yourself more as a boxer -- or a businessman? George: notoriety, success. Took 10 years out to be an evangelist and I been a preacher for 10 years I literally ran out of money and realised what money was really for -- for charitable organisations and helping kids, helping them go to college. Wished I knew how to be a businessman. I approached boxing second time around as a business. Did promotions, corporations, foundations and all of sudden didn't see myself as a boxer, but a businessman. Thought how to make this a business during the last few years of my career. Even in the ring throwing a punch, I knew I had to do it in a certain way to be able to sell products. What lessons learned as a boxer helped you as a businessman? George: Just believe in your punch and don't stop throwing punches. Even when you getting beat up bad, just don't' stop throwing your best punch. Could be the last second of the last round and you could win. In business if you just keep throwing a quality punch, you can win. Some people in business have never experienced rejection can't take it and quit. Just keep throwing the punch, you can eventually win by knockout.

What is your proudest accomplishment? George: Being a father in the last years motivated more than anything. For someone to look in your eyes and say that's my dad. For almost 40 years now I've been blessed to have all my children proud to say 'that's my dad!' That is my greatest accomplishment." [To George's son]: What is it like working closely with your father and family? George IV: If there's a line between father and son or boss and son, it's been erased. Everything we do, it's not only father and son, but mentor and apprentice. He's such a great teacher. As he came up through boxing and business he had to do everything himself. In doing so, he teaches me what to do in situations. What have you learned from working with your dad? George IV: The insight gained from daily interaction is the most valuable attribute. You can never have too much to do. Some people try to avoid the full plate or multitasking. My dad says the president of the United States has a million things to do, so do a million and one things. What are your father's unique characteristics as a businessman versus a boxer? George IV: He keeps the same characteristics in both. In his second career, he was bigger in size and older in age and had to learn how to sell people on his character and not just his athletic ability. From the second he woke up until he went to sleep, he was selling

George senior, what legacy do you want to leave for your family and young people? George: It doesn't matter who you are or where you're from. The buck stops at you. If you really believe you can do something, doesn't matter what mother, father or sister says. You want to dream of owning General Motors, you can do it. If you want to be heavyweight champion of the world, or own a grilling company go for it. It all starts and ends with you. Where does the Foreman brand go from here? George IV: He's accomplished so much, the thing about George, he's always looking at what's next. We have a cleaning product. Everyday he comes up with something new whether it's a radio show or he talks about opening another clothing line. The sky is the limit.

For around €80 you can get this nice little remote control helicopter with a built in video camera. It’s got a range of around 10m so it’s perfect for spying through the neighbours’ window or taking some arty still photos of your garden. It has a USB connection so you can download your pictures to your computer and it’s bundled with some easy to use software for editing your handiwork.

They may tip in at a hefty €135 but these WiFi scales are worth every euro. You use them as you would a normal set of bathroom scales but these ones will send your weight and BMI directly to your computer or iPhone via a standard wireless signal. They are very high quality and look gorgeous in black or white and you get all the programs you need to monitor up to 8 people. There is a great website where you can upload and store your progress and it also works with the popular dailyburn.com service and iPhone apps like RunKeeper and WeightBot. A USB mosquito repellant dongle sounds like the best invention ever but you will get better results throwing the thing at the little buggers! It supposedly works using an ultrasonic sound wave powered by a standard computer USB port, but the Spanish mosquitos are either deaf or don’t seem to mind the buzzing noise.

Not the cheapest 4 person tent on the market but who cares when you can look this cool? Fairly easy to erect and dismantle but not a huge amount of communal space inside unless used as a 2 person. €350 seems a lot but it is very well made and should out last the average tent.

blonde, wanting to earn some money, decided to hire herself out as a handyman-type and started canvassing a wealthy neighborhood. She went to the front door of

the owner if he had any jobs for her to do. "Well, you can paint my porch. How much will you charge?" The blonde said, "How about 50 dollars?" The man agreed and told her that the paint and ladders that she might need were in the garage. The man's wife, inside the house, heard the conversation and said to her husband, "Does she re-

alize that the porch goes all the way around the house?" The man replied, "She should. She was standing on the porch." A short time later, the blonde came to the door to collect her money. he asked. "Yes," the blonde answered, "and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats. "Impressed, the man reached in his pocket for the $50. "And by the way," the blonde added, "that's not a Porch, it's a Ferrari."

A Beer Study A Beer Study: Yesterday scientists for Health Canada suggested that, considering the results of a recent analysis that revealed the presence of female hormones in beer, men should take a look at their beer consumption. The theory is that drinking beer makes men turn into women! To test the theory, 100 men were fed 6 pints of beer each within a one hour period. It was then observed that 100% of the men gained weight, talked excessively without making sense, became overly emotional, couldn't drive, failed to think rationally, argued over nothing, and refused to apologise when wrong. No further testing is planned.
