Certain construction or maintenance projects taking place within the village will now pay between
$20 and $10 per day for each onstreet parking space occupied in certain areas.
The village’s Building Department will determine if projects meet the need to take parking spaces after contractors submit an application for temporary usage of on-street/municipal parking field spaces.
Downtown parking meters located on First Street between Marcellus Road and Third Avenue, Second Street between Third Avenue and Mineola Boulevard and Third Avenue between Station Plaza North and Harrison Avenue will cost $20 per meter each per day. Using village municipal parking lots will also cost $20 per day for every space taken.
All other on-street parking spaces within the village will be $10 per day for every space taken.
The village also established a Jericho Turnpike Student Parking Permit that designates 20 spots on Jericho on a nonexclusive, first come first serve basis during the year from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Mineola Mayor Paul Pereira said offering the permits, which are $250, to Chaminade High School students may offset revenue from underutilized parking meters in the area on Jericho between Emory Road and Saville Road on the south side and Emory Road and Foch Boulevard on the North Side.
