Nassau County Democrats have selected Arnold Drucker, a Plainview lawyer, and Republicans have picked Louis Imbroto, associate general counsel of the Nassau Health Care Corp., to face each other in a race to fill Judy Jacobs’ seat in the county Legislature, following her death on Sept. 13. For her initial years in the United States, Hanover worked as a corporate lawyer in New York City while sketching fashion accessories in her free time. “I’d done jewelry as a teenager and always messed around with it,” she recalled. “I decided to start a small home business to sell to friends and family” in 2006. This month marks 10 years since the company began in her living room. As she described it, the business “slowly, organically expanded,” eventually garnering pop-up appearances at Continued on Page 71
