An unidentified assassin shot and killed famous Punjabi musician Sidhu Moosewala on Sunday in Punjab's Mansa district, a day after the state government revoked his security cover. Moosewala, 27, was traveling in a jeep with two pals when he was attacked in the village of Jawahar Ke, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (Mansa) Gobinder Singh. Moosewala was brought dead to the civic hospital in Mansa, according to civil surgeon Ranjeet Rai. The two other people who were shot have been referred to a different hospital, he said. The Punjab Police withdrew security from 424 persons on Saturday, including Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, often known as Sidhu Moosewala.
