The first portfolio of the latest InSight Trend Index series Great Entertainers exemplifies how the home entertaining trend that kicked off the inaugural InSight Trend Index a year ago continues as a primary catalyst for home and housewares growth. Yet this year’s installment

serves up distinctly different tones, underscoring the opportunity to develop and position product for consumers, another year into their renewed zest for celebrating myriad occasions with updated form and function in the comfort of their homes.

The observation and analysis provided by the HomePage News Insight Trend Index 2024/25 has also evolved with added marketplace intelligence and data to provide greater depth into the trends discovered and explored by InSight and the forces that drive and sustain them.

Social media is primarily responsible for this influence, encouraging consumers to share their home settings, not only for friends and family but also inviting others to view their evolving personal use of color and style.

What has changed in the way we think about entertaining?

Entertaining remains a source of dynamic, memorable life moments. We continue to entertain in more locations both inside and outside our homes, and that creates new needs and challenges. Changing weather patterns are also impacting the foods we make, the drinks we serve and the timing for entertainment, and that’s creating new opportunities for retailers and brands as well. The desire to make entertaining moments special and unique is continually opening the door for innovation opportunities in both product and marketing.
