Rooted in Time: Exploring Jupiter’s History and Milestones

Florida Memory Project

A locomotive of the 'Celestial Railroad' that connected Jupiter, Mars, Venus, and Juno from 1890-1896.

Long before Jupiter became known for luxury living and waterfront escapes, it was a rugged coastal frontier shaped by pioneers, military scouts, and Native American tribes.

Its history is layered—sometimes quiet, sometimes turbulent—but always essential to understanding the character of this unique Florida town.

The name "Jupiter" itself has curious origins. It evolved from the Spanish mispronunciation of the local Jaega tribe’s chief village, Hobe. Cartographers confused “Hobe” with the Roman god "Jove," and over time, it became “Jupiter.” That celestial name stuck— and it's reflected today in everything from street names to the town's cosmic branding.

One of the town’s defining moments came in 1838, during the Second Seminole War. The Battle of the Loxahatchee, fought in what is now Riverbend Park, was the last major battle of the war in South Florida. Soldiers clashed with Seminole warriors among the cypress trees and riverbanks, leaving a lasting mark that is still honored today through plaques and reenactments.

The arrival of the Jupiter and Lake Worth Railway in 1889, a narrow-gauge rail line just over seven miles

long, helped open up the area to settlers and trade. Affectionately called the “Celestial Railroad,” its stops included Jupiter, Mars, Venus, and Juno. Though short-lived, it played a vital role in shaping the early economy and identity of the region.

As the town grew into the 20th century, agriculture and fishing dominated. But by mid-century, a quieter revolution was happening: Northern families were discovering Jupiter as a hidden escape from snow and city life. This trickle of seasonal visitors gradually gave way to full-time residents, transforming the community from a sleepy hamlet into a sought-after address.

Incorporated in 1925, Jupiter has carefully balanced progress with preservation. Neighborhoods like Pine Gardens and Jupiter River Estates are dotted with older homes that recall a simpler time, while places like the DuBois Pioneer Home—built atop an ancient shell midden—still stand as reminders of the town’s pre-modern roots.

More recently, the development of the Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute, the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience, and Florida Atlantic University’s Honors College brought intellectual and scientific gravitas to the area, showing that Jupiter’s milestones aren’t just historical—they’re ongoing.

Style in the Wild

When fashion meets nature, magic happens - and no one brings that vision to life quite like Nasheema Travaglini, stylist and owner of ZOË Palm Beach Gardens. In her latest creative endeavor, Nasheema styled an unforgettable shoot surrounded by the animals of Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, blending fashion with the raw beauty of wild-

life. This partnership with the beloved Jupiter animal haven is a meaningful fusion of two worlds. “Bringing bright, bold colors, gorgeous fabrics, and striking silhouettes into nature to create a stunning contrast,” Nasheema explains. “It highlights the beauty of both fashion and wildlife in a way that feels powerful, yet harmonious.”

Exploring Volunteer Opportunities That Make Jupiter a Better Place

July is all about exploration, and what better way to dive into exploring ways you can help than by giving back to your community – Jupiter is a town full of heart, with countless organizations and causes that could use a helping hand. Whether you’re passionate about helping animals, protecting the environment, or supporting those in need, there’s a volunteer opportunity for everyone. Here’s how you can spread the love this month.

1. Lend a Paw: Help Animals in Need

For animal lovers, Jupiter offers several ways to make a difference in the lives of furry (and scaly!) friends:

•Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic & Ranch: This local no-kill shelter is always looking for volunteers to help with walking dogs, cuddling cats, assisting at events, or even fostering animals. Bring joy to your life while giving these pets the care they deserve.

◦ As with many of these organizations, sign up online to become a volunteer or foster parent.

•Busch Wildlife Sanctuary: Care for native Florida wildlife by volunteering at this non-profit sanctuary. Tasks include feeding animals, cleaning enclosures, or assisting with educational programs.

2. Protect Paradise: Environmental Volunteerism

Jupiter’s natural beauty deserves some love, too. Join forces with local environmental groups to help preserve the area’s unique ecosystems.

•Friends of Jupiter Beach: Show your love for our beaches by participating in their monthly cleanups. Volunteers of all ages come together to keep Jupiter’s shores pristine while enjoying good company and coastal views.

◦ When: Monthly beach cleanups—check their website for the next date.

•Loxahatchee River Center: Help out at this environmental education center by assisting with events, working with kids, or participating in river cleanups. This is a great way to give back while learning about Jupiter’s unique waterways.

3. Feed the Love: Support Food Assistance Programs

Lend a helping hand to those experiencing food insecurity in our community by partnering with these organizations:

•El Sol Neighborhood Resource Center: This nonprofit supports the local immigrant population through job placement, education, and access to food. Volunteers can help with their food pantry, teach English classes, or

assist with community events.

•Palm Beach County Food Bank: Get involved with sorting and packing food donations or help distribute meals to families in need.

4. Share Your Skills: Mentor or Teach

Pass along your knowledge and skills to empower others in the community:

•Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties: Become a mentor and make a meaningful impact on the life of a child. From helping with homework to being a positive role model, this opportunity allows you to spread love one relationship at a time.

•Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County: Volunteer to tutor children or adults, helping them improve their reading and writing skills. A few hours a week can change someone’s life forever.

5. Hearts for the Elderly: Brighten Someone’s Day

Don’t forget our senior community—your time and kindness can mean the world to them.

•Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches: Deliver hot, nutritious meals to seniors in need while also providing a friendly smile and a few minutes of conversation.

•Visiting Nursing Association (VNA): Volunteer to bring joy to local seniors through companionship visits, or assist with organizing community events.

6. Give Back as a Family

Want to teach your kids about the importance of giving back? Many local organizations welcome families to volunteer together.

•Place of Hope: This Jupiter-based nonprofit supports children and families in need. From hosting donation drives to assisting with events, families can help make a real difference.

•Trustbridge Hospice Foundation: Help bring comfort and dignity to those in hospice care by donating gently used clothing, household items, and furniture.

Trustbridge’s thrift stores in Palm Beach County accept donations, and families can work together to organize items for donation or assist in store operations. It’s a meaningful way to teach children about compassion and kindness.

◦ How to Help: Gather donations as a family or sign up to volunteer at one of their locations.

Speak Up For Kids: Empowering Foster Youth Through Awareness and Action

by Lori Griffith Maryam Alrekabi, a senior at Jupiter High, is the driving force behind Speak Up for Kids, which benefits foster kids.

Founded in 2008, Speak Up For Kids advocates for children who are abused, neglected, or abandoned within Palm Beach County’s foster care system. These vulnerable youths face significant hurdles, including instability, trauma, and interruptions in their education. Studies reveal that nearly 80% of these children grapple with emotional and behavioral disorders, a rate substantially higher than that of their peers. Additionally, they are five times more likely to suffer from anxiety, depression, and PTSD, often lacking stable relationships that are crucial for emotional well being. This social isolation can make their mental health challenges even more severe.

Building on the mission of Speak Up For Kids, the organization’s local chapter, Students Speak Up For Kids was launched to raise awareness and provide direct support to foster youth. The initiative was inspired by Maryam Alrekabi, a senior at Jupiter High School, who became passionate about the cause after volunteering with the organization. Motivated to educate her peers,

Maryam sought to share her experiences and foster compassion within her school community.

“I wanted to let people know the struggles children in foster care face,” Maryam explains. “Compassion is one of the most important qualities we can have. You never know what someone might be going through, whether it’s abuse, neglect, or abandonment, and we all can be more understanding.”

Maryam presented her idea to her school, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness about foster youth. Alongside co-leader Danielle Day, she works tirelessly to grow the chapter through campus activities, educational campaigns, and social media outreach on Instagram (@jhs_ssufk).

A key part of their work involves debunking common misconceptions about foster care. For example: Myth: All kids in foster care are “trouble” or have behavioral problems.

Truth: Most foster children are just like any other kids—they’ve simply endured difficult circumstances.

Myth: It’s obvious who’s in foster care.

Photo

charity spotlight

Truth: You can’t tell by looking—foster youth are classmates, teammates, and friends just like everyone else.

Myth: Turning 18 means they’re ready to go it alone.

Truth: Aging out of foster care can be incredibly challenging, and many young adults need ongoing support with housing, education, and emotional health.

Myth: Foster youth can’t trust anyone.

Truth: Building trust after trauma takes time, but with patience and care, foster youth can develop strong, healthy relationships.

To bring these messages to life, Students Speak Up For Kids creates videos that explore emotional themes, openly discussing foster care’s realities. “While it’s not the most uplifting topic, we believe in talking about it honestly,” Maryam says. “We want to connect emotionally with students and encourage them to serve their community. Our goal is full advocacy for every child in foster care.”

At just 17, Maryam plans to attend Florida Atlantic

University in the fall, majoring in neuroscience with hopes of becoming a physician. Her dedication has inspired many, including her mentor and teacher Kimberly Misewich, who shares her pride:

“I’m so proud of Maryam and everything she’s achieved. She’s opened my heart to this cause, and her passion is truly contagious. Whenever I’m around her, I feel inspired and uplifted.”

For more information about Students Speak Up For Kids, please visit their Instagram (@jhs_ssufk) or join their Google Classroom.

The Healing Power of Leisure: How Recreation Can Improve Your Mental Health

It's easy to overlook the quiet, restorative magic of leisure activities to improve one’s overall quality of life. Many of us view downtime as a luxury—or worse, a sign of laziness. On the contrary, leisure can be a valuable factor in promoting positive mental health.

Leisure isn't simply the absence of work but the intentional engagement in activities that bring joy, relaxation, or personal fulfillment. Recreation gives our brains a break from stress and our hearts a chance to reconnect with what makes us feel alive. Some key benefits:

Stress Reduction and Emotional Resilience

One of the most immediate benefits of recreational activities is their ability to lower stress. When we engage in leisure activities, our bodies release feelgood hormones and reduce levels of cortisol, the stress hormone. Physical activities like jogging or yoga are especially effective, but even non-physical hobbies like reading or gardening offer calming effects. Studies show that people who regularly participate in leisure activities tend to bounce back from adversity more easily.

Boosted Mood

Leisure provides moments of joy, novelty, and satisfaction—ingredients proven to elevate our mood. Creative hobbies like music, writing, or crafting stimulate the brain's reward center and enhance self-esteem. Social recreation, such as team sports or game nights, strengthens our sense of belonging and combats feelings of loneliness. Research has found a strong link between leisure satisfaction and positive mood.

Improved Cognitive Function

Contrary to the belief that “downtime” is unproductive, leisure can actually sharpen your mind. Engaging in recreational activities--especially those that involve learning or problem-solving—can improve memory, focus, and creativity. These activities can challenge the brain in unique ways, helping maintain mental agility as we age.

Strengthened Social Connections

Many recreational activities foster relationships, and social interaction is one of the most powerful predictors of positive mental health. Joining a community theater, participating in a paddleboard club, or attending an art class builds a sense of community and support.

Enhanced Mindfulness and Presence

Certain leisure activities, especially those that require focus and rhythm—like knitting, swimming, or playing an instrument—can put us into a state of "flow." This immersive mental state promotes mindfulness, reduces rumination, and brings us fully into the present. These effects are similar to meditation, offering mental clarity and emotional balance.

Incorporating leisure into your life doesn't require a major change. It can start with small step. Recreation is a tool for mental resilience, joy, and well-being.

Don't Hit the Road Without RV Insurance

RV insurance is a specialized type of insurance designed to protect recreational vehicles (RVs), including motorhomes, travel trailers, camper vans, and other towable RVs.

1. Why do you need RV insurance?

• Legal Requirements: Most states require RV owners to carry liability insurance, similar to car insurance.

• Financial Protection: RV insurance can protect you financially in case of accidents, theft, vandalism, or damage from natural disasters.

• Lender Requirements: If you have a loan or lease on your RV, your lender will likely require you to carry comprehensive and collision coverage.

• Peace of Mind: With RV insurance you're financially protected while traveling and enjoying your RV.

2. Types of RV Insurance Coverage: RV insurance policies can be customized with various coverages, similar to car insurance and homeowner's insurance, including:

• Liability Coverage: Covers bodily injury and property damage that you cause to others in an accident.

• Collision Coverage: Covers damage to your RV if you collide with another vehicle or object.

• Comprehensive Coverage: Covers damage to your RV from events other than collisions, such as theft, vandalism, fire, and natural disasters.

• Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage: Covers

damages if you're hit by a driver without insurance or with insufficient coverage.

• Medical Payments Coverage: Covers medical expenses for you and your passengers if you're injured in an accident, regardless of fault.

• Personal Property Coverage: Covers personal belongings inside your RV.

• Total Loss Replacement: Pays to replace your RV with a new one if it's totaled, rather than just the depreciated value.

• Roadside Assistance: Covers towing and emergency assistance.

• Full-time RV Coverage: Offers additional coverages for those who live in their RV full-time, like personal liability, medical payments, and loss assessment.

• Vacation Liability: Covers liability for incidents that occur while your RV is parked and being used as a temporary residence.

RV insurance is essential for protecting your investment and enjoying your adventures with peace of mind.

Be sure to shop around, compare quotes, and choose a policy that meets your specific needs and budget.

Rediscover Jupiter's Dining Scene, Now That Snowbirds Have Flown the Coop

The Salty Zebra in Jupiter has a menu based on locally sourced foods. Chef David Chapman, below, says, 'You have to have good products first, before we have good food.'

Ah, summer. Relaxed all around in South Florida, it offers those who are willing to stick out the heat the rewards of fewer people vying for roads, waterways and restaurants.

Here’s a chance to explore new restaurants or revisit those you may have forgotten about. Here are some worth a look.

Salty Zebra, 377 Tequesta Dr, Jupiter. Phone 561-250-6350; saltyzebrabistro.com.

Here’s a spot you may have missed. Open just six months, the Salty Zebra, in the Lighthouse Gallery plaza in Jupiter has chef David Chapman pulling his menu from global experiences with classical training.

“I grew up in Wisconsin, but spent time in Chicago. I went to India with Pushkar (Marathe, owner of Stage) and ended up in Southern California.”

He’s working in partnership with as many local food sources as possible for his all scratch-made foods.

A chalkboard map of Florida with farm locations he sources hangs at the back of the restaurant. He’s passionate about food sourcing, seeking out area farmers and producers for niche products.

He’s currently working with a university researcher growing sea purslane, an edible seaweed.

“You have to have good products first, before we have good food.”

The Zebra is open only for dinner five nights a week in summer,

so he’s playing to the season, with lighter dishes and tropical fruits on the menu for upcoming hot nights. Flavor is foremost, balanced in

lighter dishes, though he says, “Simple food is best.”

If you have good ingredients, you don’t have to do much to them for best results, he says.

“We have a grilled swordfish, with Kai-Kai’s baba ganoush and a massaged baby kale. It’s served with a preserved lemon ravigote, a lighter traditional French sauce, for summer, and tropical fruits.”

A mushroom pâté on the starters list is creamy smooth, with just a hint of earthy truffles. “The maitake mushrooms naturally have that similar flavor,” he said.

A wahoo poke gets a tropical treatment with a vegan coconut rice pudding, cucumbers, green mango, and a light tomato consommé with a dribble of ginger turmeric oil.

A dry-aged honey-glazed duck served with tart cherries is another house favorite.

“We have steak and meats, but you can also order a five-course vegan menu,” Chapman said.

Desserts get play as well, with bread pudding served with macerated peaches and cinnamon ice cream, coconut rice pudding with carmelized mangos on the list, as well as Key lime pie.

Housemade passion fruit or lychee sorbets are another part of the repertoire.

The restaurant is also known for value in its prix fixe meals, and happy hour selections.

It’s a family affair at The Grove, where husband-wife team Luis and Jen Reyneri run the wine-centric bistro that’s considered a hidden find among locals.

Customers look for the nondescript facade in a shopping plaza that opens into what Jen Reyneri calls “hidden elegance.”

“You’re transported once you walk inside,” she said. “The Italian way of

slow living is the inspiration for our restaurant.”

Fine international wines are front and center here, where Luis advises customers as a Certified Advanced Sommelier and Certified Wine Educator. “We’ve lived in Europe, working vineyards,” she said, and with the experiences, have dedicated the menu to being wine-pairing friendly.

“It’s educational and community-based, and includes two bottles of sommelier selections monthly,” Reyneri said.

Customers are encouraged to participate in wine dinners and classes, as well as parties just for members.

“We also have five-course paired dinners with a guest visiting chef, and do monthly wine master classes.”

The six-year-old restaurant’s Italian-Mediterranean scratch menu features customer favorites such as lamb Bolognese, cacio e pepe, and more recently chicken Parmesan.

“Hit the right night, and you can get osso buco and risotto,” she said.

The Grove is recognized as a Wine Spectator award-winning restaurant.

She touts summer as being a good time to book private events at the restaurant, where no room fee is charged. They also have won awards as best area caterer, she said.

Throughout the summer there are unique events planned at the restaurant, such as live jazz on Friday nights. Check their website for schedules.

The former Aqua Grille in Juno has been reimagined into Aquasan, a Pan-Asian, Latin American fusion bar and restaurant.

Owned by Patrik Waxin of Waxin’s, the Polynesian-inspired restaurant sports a full tiki bar called The Big Kahuna. It’s all designed for the tropical beach town vibe. The trendy Japandi-style decor completes the picture.

Waxin calls it “a lot of fun, and such a deviation from the other restaurants in our portfolio.”

The menus, created by local Top Chef All-Star Stephen Asprinio, are executed by chef Nicole Fey. Look for Asian-inspired dishes with whimsical culinary moves: General Tso’s chicken-and-waffle sandwich, gyoza “tacos and tequila” with ahi tuna and yuzu guac, and a spiked tropical punch.

The local catch is served a la plancha with a cashew sambal, okra and passionfruit buerre blanc.

Steak tips yakitori with a black bean bordelaise, and a dry-aged big Kahuna burger with pineapple, bacon jam and K-town potato salad are on the tiki menu.

Sushi offerings include local wahoo prosciutto and melon nigiri, and a Korean BBQ surf and turf roll.

The reinterpretation of a tiki bar, with a nod to the mid-modern tiki culture, is set for group gathrings, with craft tiki cocktails and a curated selection of Caribbean rums, and a New World-based wine and sake program.

Take advantage of smaller crowds at these area restaurants, and watch for summer specials: Little Moir’s Food Shack, 103 U.S. 1, Jupiter.

The Tokyo Tuna Tataki is among the Asian-inspired dishes to be found at Aquasan in Juno Beach.

An old favorite from 2002 that works because of consistency. Now’s the off-season for this wildly popular tiny seafood spot in the Publix plaza at Indiantown Road and U.S. 1. Tip: Get the tripletail if it’s served.

The Beacon, 1107 Lighthouse Road, Jupiter. Phone (561) 532-3280; thebeaconjupiter.com.

Refreshed and redone with a coastal Italian menu, using locally caught fish, The Beacon serves up the big Seafood Plateau meant for sharing: Florida shrimp, oysters, tuna crudo and ceviche. Land-based options are here, too. Craft cocktails at the bar.

Blackbird, 1511 N. Old Dixie Highway, Jupiter. Phone 561-589-7505; blackbirdmodernasian.com.

The hip modern Asian is finally accessible. The Happy Hour is the best deal going if you love those craft cocktails. The short rib dumplings are a “don’t miss.”

Hog Snappers, 279 U.S. 1, Tequesta. Phone 561401-9309; hogsnappersshackandsushi.com.

Another oldie but goody, this seafood spot’s line is long in season, so go now, while you can easily get in. Of course, the whole fried snapper is the thing, but don’t eschew the house ceviche, or the lobster cavatelli.

Ara, 1406 Cypress Dr., Jupiter. Phone 561-7305138; arajupiter.com.

Give this newer Mediterranean a try. How about an Italian fried risotto, or ribeye and mushroom stuffed bread? Sweet corn tortelloni and the burger are here, too. Unique takes on familiar dishes are winning raves.

Exploring the Bahamas by Boat: A Journey from Jupiter

There’s something timeless about leaving the shore behind and pointing your bow toward the turquoise waters of the Bahamas. For boaters launching from Jupiter, this adventure is not just accessible—it’s unforgettable. With the Gulf Stream at your stern and a world of islands ahead, exploring the northern Bahamas by boat is a voyage through beauty, history, and hidden gems.

The journey begins with a 60-to-80-mile crossing to West End, Grand Bahama—the gateway to the islands.

Known for its laid-back vibe, West End is perfect for a first night’s dockage, offering customs clearance, cold Kaliks, and a welcome that makes you feel instantly at home.

From there, head north to Walker's Cay, a legendary outpost reborn. Once a famed sportfishing mecca, Walker’s is making a comeback with revamped marina facilities and world-class fishing grounds. Sailors and anglers alike flock here for the deep blue drop-offs and the promise of trophy catches.

Cruising south along the coast, the pristine cays of Double Breasted are a must-see. This cluster of small islands is ideal for shallow-water anchoring and paddleboarding through impossibly clear channels. It's a true escape—no marinas, no crowds, just you and nature.

Next, set course for Freeport, the second-largest city

in the Bahamas. Known for its developed marina infrastructure, shopping, and nightlife, Freeport offers a touch of civilization between remote anchorages. Lucaya Marina is a great base to explore the island’s restaurants and attractions, including local markets and the vibrant Port Lucaya Marketplace.

Finally, no Bahamian boat trip is complete without reaching the Abacos. With charming settlements like Green Turtle Cay, Hope Town, and Marsh Harbour, the Abacos blend colonial charm with modern comforts. The protected Sea of Abaco makes for smooth sailing and plenty of sheltered anchorages. You'll find boutique marinas, beach bars, and historic lighthouses.

Throughout the journey, crystal-clear waters, powder-soft beaches, and a warm, welcoming culture are your constant companions. Boating from Jupiter to the Bahamas isn’t just a trip—it’s a lifestyle. Whether you're chasing game fish, snorkeling reefs, or enjoying a sunset cocktail on deck, the islands deliver memories that last a lifetime.

Why Should You Get Fit for Your Clubs? Save Six Shots Per Round

Golf shafts are the backbone of any golf club, acting as the critical link between the club head and the golfer’s hands. Their specifications and characteristics significantly influence a player’s swing, ball flight, and overall performance. This article explores the key aspects of golf shafts, including material, flex, weight, torque, kick point, and length, to help golfers make informed choices.

Material

Golf shafts are primarily made from steel or graphite, each offering distinct benefits. Steel shafts are durable, consistent, and typically heavier, providing greater control and accuracy, making them a favorite among skilled players. Graphite shafts are lighter, promoting higher swing speeds and increased distance, which benefits golfers with slower swings, such as seniors or beginners. Composite shafts, blending steel and graphite, are less common but aim to balance control and speed.

Flex

Shaft flex refers to how much the shaft bends during the swing, directly affecting shot trajectory and accuracy. Flex options include extra stiff (X), stiff (S), regular (R), senior (A), and ladies (L), listed from least to most flexible. Stiffer shafts suit faster swing speeds (typically over 100 mph for drivers), offering control but requiring precise timing. More flexible shafts help slower swingers (under 85 mph) generate speed but may sacrifice accuracy if too whippy. Matching flex to swing speed is crucial for optimal performance.

Weight

Shaft weight, measured in grams, ranges from ultralight (under 50g) to heavy (over 80g). Lighter shafts, often graphite, boost swing speed and distance but may reduce control. Heavier shafts, typically steel, enhance stability and consistency, ideal for players prioritizing accuracy. Weight also affects feel—lighter shafts feel faster, while heavier ones provide a solid, grounded sensation. Golfers must balance weight with their strength and tempo for ideal results.

Torque

Torque measures a shaft’s resistance to twisting during the swing, expressed in degrees (e.g., 2.5° to 5.5°). Lower torque (stiffer) shafts resist twisting, delivering a more stable impact for faster swingers but feeling harsher. Higher torque shafts twist more, offering a softer feel and helping correct off-center hits for slower swingers, though they may reduce accuracy. Torque influences dispersion and is often paired with flex to fine-tune performance.

Kick Point

The kick point, or bend point, is where the shaft flexes most during the swing, affecting launch angle and spin.

High kick point shafts bend near the grip, producing lower, penetrating ball flights, ideal for high-speed players seeking control. Low kick point shafts bend near the clubhead, promoting higher launch and more spin, benefiting players needing extra carry distance. Mid kick point shafts offer a balanced trajectory, suiting a wide range of swing types.

Length

Shaft length, measured in inches, varies by club type (e.g., 45–46” for drivers, 38–39” for irons). Longer shafts increase club head speed and distance but can reduce control, making them harder to hit consistently. Shorter shafts enhance accuracy and contact quality but may sacrifice some distance. Custom fitting ensures length matches a golfer’s height, posture, and swing mechanics for optimal performance.

Conclusion

Choosing the right golf shaft involves understanding how material, flex, weight, torque, kick point, and length interact with a golfer’s swing. A well-fitted shaft enhances distance, accuracy, and feel, while a mismatched one can hinder performance. Golfers should consider custom fitting, where professionals analyze swing data to recommend shafts tailored to individual needs. By prioritizing shaft specifications, players can unlock their full potential on the course. The World Beneath Your Feet: Exploring the Origins of Luxury Hardwood Flooring

In the world of luxury design, true beauty begins at the source. This July, as we embrace the spirit of exploration, we take a closer look at where the most sought-after hardwood flooring begins its journey.

European oak, from the rich forests of France, Germany, Poland, and Ukraine, is revered for its dense grain, warm tones, and unmatched strength. Its ability to absorb finishes makes it a designer favorite for both classic and contemporary interiors, while its sustainable sourcing appeals to the eco-conscious.

From North America’s northern forests comes maple—light, creamy, and timeless. Hard maple (like Sugar Maple) is ultra-durable and ideal for busy households, while soft maple, with its unique grain patterns, offers a more rustic, vintage charm. Both

are available in solid, engineered, and laminate forms to suit a range of lifestyles.

For a darker, richer tone, American Black Walnut— harvested in the Midwest and Eastern U.S.—is the epitome of understated elegance. Known for its insect resistance, moisture stability, and radiant heat compatibility, walnut adds value and warmth to any home.

For the boldest statement, exotic hardwoods from South America, Africa, and Southeast Asia offer unrivaled color, grain, and longevity. From Brazilian Ipe to African Mahogany, these woods are conversation pieces.

Whether you prefer the quiet sophistication of European oak or the dramatic flair of exotic species, knowing the story behind your hardwood enriches the beauty it brings into your home.

The Art of the Statement Coffee Table: Where History Meets Design home & design

In the realm of luxury interiors, the coffee table has evolved far beyond its functional roots—it’s now a striking centerpiece that tells a story. From grand live-edge slabs to reimagined antique carts, today's bespoke coffee tables blend craftsmanship, heritage, and bold design.

Live-edge slab coffee tables are commanding attention in high-end spaces. Each piece is a natural sculpture, with organic edges and wood grains that make no two alike. Oversized or compact, they anchor a room with earthy elegance, especially when paired with minimalist décor or sculptural seating.

Equally compelling are tables fashioned from vintage doors—rich with character, patina, and the marks of time. Set atop modern iron legs or antique bases, these one-of-a-kind pieces merge rustic charm with architectural intrigue.

Antique furniture carts, once humble workhorses of industrial spaces, now shine in luxury homes as rolling

centerpieces. Their iron hardware, weathered wood, and storied pasts lend an urban-chic edge to refined spaces.

For softer, more versatile options, upholstered benches and oversized ottomans serve dual roles as coffee tables and casual seating. Layered with trays, books, or objets d’art, they add tactile warmth and flexible elegance.

From bold live-edge masterpieces to repurposed relics, these tables are more than furniture—they're conversation pieces. In a luxury setting, they ground a room with style, substance, and a sense of curated individuality. Whether handcrafted or rediscovered, each one offers a unique blend of beauty and soul.

Explore the Extraordinary: Why a Travel Advisor is Essential for Unique Adventures travel advice

Travel means something different to everyone. Some people want to take a classic trip like their friends or neighbors, while others crave something far from ordinary. When you’re investing your hard-earned money and precious time, it’s important not to miss a critical detail that could derail your entire experience. That’s where a travel advisor becomes a valuable resource, especially when you’re looking to explore the world in a deeper, more adventurous way.

Expedition Cruises: Remote, Rewarding, and Not So Simple

Cruising is a popular way to unwind and visit multiple destinations in one trip. While traditional cruises can offer great experiences, more adventurous travelers often want something that pushes boundaries. That’s where expedition cruises come in.

Expedition cruises immerse you in remote environments like Antarctica, the Galápagos, or the Arctic, allowing you to experience ecosystems that challenge and broaden your worldview. But these trips aren’t as easy to plan as clicking “book now.” Travelers may need special permits, medical documentation, or multiple visas. The departure point might be a tiny port in a remote region, requiring complicated routing and overnight stays. A travel advisor helps navigate all of that to ensure you’re fully prepared and free to enjoy the experience without unexpected headaches.

African Safaris: A Dream Trip That Deserves Expert Guidance

For many, an African safari is the ultimate bucket list adventure. But with so many options, some amazing and others questionable, it can be hard to know what’s right for you. Safety, ethics, seasonality, and wildlife goals all play a part in crafting the perfect safari.

Do you want to witness the Great Migration? See specific animals? Stay in eco-conscious camps? A travel advisor can match your desires and values with vetted operators, ideal travel windows, and the right level of comfort and safety. They also handle the logistics of getting you from home to the lodge and back, which can be a complex journey in itself.

Luxury Train Journeys: Slow Travel, Seamless Planning

Train travel continues to grow in popularity, and for good reason. Luxury train journeys offer a slower, more immersive way to see the world. From the Canadian Rockies to the Italian Alps, these scenic rail experiences combine elegant dining, guided excursions, and panoramic views from beautifully restored train cars.

Many routes include overnight stays in remote or exclusive destinations and allow for limited customization if booked well in advance. Popular journeys often sell out a year ahead, and some begin in places that require complex travel plans. A travel advisor makes sure no detail is missed so your journey goes smoothly.

Explore Boldly, Travel Smart: Why Travel Experts Still Matter

We live in a time when just about everything can be done online, and travel might seem like one of the easiest things to plan yourself. With reviews, photos, and pricing available at your fingertips, it’s easy to assume you don’t need help. Travelers from around the world share insights on popular destinations, and many people rely heavily on these reviews when booking trips. But here’s the question: How do you know which reviews are trustworthy? Are you actually getting the best value, or just the best marketing?

With more options and fine print than ever, a trusted expert can help you navigate the noise and focus on what really matters.

Real Insight from Real People

When I research an unfamiliar destination, I don’t just rely on Google or online reviews. While those can be a helpful starting point, they’re no substitute for firsthand knowledge. If I haven’t personally stayed at a property, chances are one of my clients has. Or one of the fellow travel advisors I work with has recent experience there. This kind of insider network offers real, unfiltered feedback from travelers with preferences similar to your own. That’s a lot more meaningful than an online review. Plus, you benefit from our professional relationships with hotels, resorts, and tour operators. I can often find out if a resort is under renovation, if a hotel’s service has recently slipped, or if certain amenities aren’t currently available. You won’t see these on the booking sites. Perks, Access, and Peace of Mind

Many people are surprised to learn that using a travel advisor often doesn’t cost more. In most cases, we’re

paid by the hotel or tour operator through a commission. By working with a travel advisor, you also gain access to exclusive rates and amenities at thousands of properties worldwide. Think room upgrades, early check-in, late check-out, or resort credits, all at no extra cost.

Support When Things Go Sideways

You might have had several smooth trips in the past, but most seasoned travelers have either experienced or heard about vacations that turned into disasters.

When you book with a travel advisor, you have someone who knows you and your trip details and can jump in to fix problems. Whether it’s rebooking flights, or navigating insurance claims, I’m here to advocate for you.

Speaking of insurance, a good travel advisor will also recommend appropriate protection for your trip. Many people don’t realize that their health insurance may not cover them internationally, or that some destinations require upfront payment for emergency care.

Let’s Explore Boldly, Together

Travel is more accessible than ever, but that doesn’t mean it’s always simple. If you want to explore boldly, travel smart, and make the most of your time and investment, working with a travel advisor is one of the smartest decisions you can make.

A Local's Guide to Paddling Past the Crowds and Into Hidden Paradise

A trio of quiet access points along the North Fork of the Loxahatchee River offer peacefull paddling access for locals. But you'll need to use kayak wheels and paddleboard dollies to get there, making it 100% eco-friendly.

Summer is in full swing and our waterways are buzzing with activity in July. Water-based camps are thriving, tourism is booming and locals are out enjoying every drop of blue water and sunshine. The snowbirds may have flown north, but do not be fooled, the waterfront is anything but sleepy.

With its turquoise waters, epic fishing, scenic golf courses and inviting nightlife, Jupiter is the blueprint for both a dream summer getaway and a restful staycation. Post-pandemic, July is now a busy tourist season, a major shift from years past. Discover the Palm Beaches, our county’s official

destination marketing association, boasts a steady annual increase in summer tourism. So what is a local to do when you want to enjoy the water without the crowds? The answer: explore the hidden gems.

Where to Paddle (Without the Pack)

We will start with a lowkey favorite: the F.I.N.D. Park tucked inside The Bluffs’ River subdivision. “F.I.N.D.” stands for the Florida Inland Navigational District, a special taxing authority that has been maintaining the Intracoastal Waterway and building public waterfront parks like this one to increase access since 1927.

This spot has it all: a dog park, a quiet beach for lounging, and an easy launch point for kayaks and paddleboards. It is in an open wake zone, so be mindful of speeding boats. A one-mile paddle south will land you at one of the area’s most overlooked treasures: the Juno Dunes Natural Area.

Juno Dunes: Where Sand Meets Serenity

Getting to the water at Juno Dunes the old-fashioned way means trekking an approximately 1.8 mile-long sandy trail from the parking lot off US 1. Or, skip the sweat and paddle in like a local. There is a dock for motorized

on the water

boats, but paddlers get the better deal, a peaceful half-mile loop past the docks into the mangroves and wetlands. Bring bug spray; no-see-ums love this place at dawn and dusk.

This unique preserve is a joint effort between Palm Beach County and F.I.N.D., managed by Palm Beach County Environmental Resource Management. Now in its 14th year, the area has flourished, with 4.3 acres of fresh mangrove habitat created by volunteers and nature’s own regeneration.

Up North: Secret Launch Spots on the Loxahatchee

Now, we head up to the North Fork of the Loxahatchee River, where a trio of quiet access points are hiding in plain sight. Located along Riverside Drive between County Line Road and Tequesta Drive, these hidden gems are strictly off the radar, no signage or parking. They are a goldmine of peaceful paddling access for locals within walking distance who use kayak wheels and paddleboard dollies to get there, making for a 100% eco-friendly adventure.

Start with Jackson Riverfront Pines, a rustic Palm Beach County Natural Area located at 19745 N. Riverside Drive, featuring a sandy trail that leads to the water. From there, it’s a scenic 1.5-mile paddle to the beloved Loxahatchee River Sandbar west of

the railroad tracks; my absolute favorite place for a memorable sunset!

Farther south on Riverside Drive, there are two more pedestrian access points turned mini neighborhood passive parks by the Town of Jupiter. Frazier Park, in the 200 block of Riverside Drive, offers a paved path to a bench, a trash can, and once in the water, you are a short .25-mile paddle to the sandbar. Continuing south is Sylvia Park, offering the same amenities and is my personal favorite. At low tide, you can walk right into the water, head east and in just a few steps, you arrive at the sandbar on the north side of the channel. The Loxahatchee River Sandbar is about 300 yards across the way.

Vacation Vibes Without Leaving Home

Living in Jupiter means waking up every day where others come to vacation year-round. But when you know the back ways to the water, it feels even more like your own personal paradise. From paddleboarding through mangroves to wading through tidal flats, there is no shortage of ways to escape the summer rush and find your slice of calm. So skip the crowds and the chaos – let’s paddle!

Explore Beyond the Gym – Unlocking New Paths to Wellness

Fitness often means workouts, clean eating, and maybe a yoga class. But what if there’s more? This summer, explore wellness beyond the gym with recovery rooms, plunge pools, and high-tech therapy.

As a fitness trainer, I help build strength and resilience. Movement, mindset, and nutrition are key, but sometimes, the magic lies in the unknown.

Let’s start with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) It sounds intense, but it’s really just next-level breathing. HBOT involves lying in a pressurized chamber where pure oxygen surrounds you, helping your cells regenerate and recover faster. Researchers are exploring its potential for everything from brain fog to injury recovery. Think of it as a deep breath for your whole body.

And yes, let’s dive into Cold Plunging. It’s more than a dare—short bursts of cold water immersion can reduce inflammation, boost your mood, and improve circulation. It’s uncomfortable in the moment, but the afterglow is real. You emerge feeling mentally strong, as if you’ve just conquered something challenging—and survived!

On the gentler side of recovery, there’s Red Light Therapy. Picture yourself basking under specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light stimulating cellular repair. It’s like giving your mitochondria a little pep talk. Benefits include improved skin texture, reduced fine lines, faster wound healing, and better muscle recovery.

Meet Infrared Saunas—the warm, cozy contrast to cold plunging. While cold plunging shocks you awake, infrared

saunas envelop you in gentle heat, penetrating deeper than traditional saunas. These waves heat your body from the inside out, promoting detoxification, improving circulation, and easing muscle tension. Many wellness enthusiasts love the hot-cold combo: an infrared sauna session followed by (or before) a cold plunge offers a powerful recovery punch.

Ready to try these therapies locally? Check out Transitions Wellness & Performance Center. staycalmandfloat. com/all-services

Then there’s IV Rehydration Therapy—vitamins, minerals, and hydration delivered straight to your bloodstream. Whether you’re drained from travel, battling fatigue, or craving an energy boost, this therapy can transform how you feel. It’s like the ultimate self-care session… complete with an IV drip and a cozy blanket. Schedule at Revital IV on W. Indiantown Road or visit: revitalivfl.com/ treatments/

Discover the Path to Wellness: Unlocking the Power of Chiropractic Care

When we think of the word explore, we often picture faraway destinations, winding trails, and uncharted territory. But some of the most important explorations we can take are within – into our health, our habits, and the way our bodies move and feel each day.

At its core, chiropractic care is an invitation to explore the body’s natural ability to heal, adapt, and thrive. It’s not just about addressing pain – though that’s a common starting point. It’s about discovering how alignment, posture, and nervous system function impact your overall well-being.

Explore the Nervous System: Your Internal Compass

Your nervous system is the communication highway between your brain and body. It controls every function – movement, digestion, healing, and more. When misalignments occur in the spine, they can disrupt these vital signals. Chiropractic adjustments restore connection, allowing your body to work more efficiently and effectively.

Just like a compass helps explorers navigate their way, a well-functioning nervous system helps guide your body’s natural rhythms and responses. When your spine is in alignment, you often feel more energized, balanced and focused.

Life leaves its mark – through stress, injuries, repetitive movements, and long hours at a desk or on your feet. These physical habits can create hidden tension and restriction in the body. You may not even realize how much discomfort you’ve been tolerating until it’s gone.

Chiropractic care helps uncover and address these underlying issues. From nagging neck stiffness to chronic lower back pain, the goal is not just temporary relief, but long-term correction and prevention. By exploring what’s beneath the surface, you can begin to move, sleep, and feel better in your daily life.

Navigate Toward Lasting Wellness

Chiropractic is a journey, not a quick fix. With regular consistent care, you’re not only managing symptoms –you’re investing in your long-term health. Think of each adjustment as a step forward, helping your body adapt to life’s physical and emotional stressors with great resilience.

As you continue to explore your wellness, you might also find new ways to support your body: stretching, mo-

bility work, hydration, better sleep routines, and mindful movement. Chiropractic care becomes the foundation from which you build lasting health habits.

Embrace the Journey

Every body is different – and every healing journey is unique. Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or simply wanting to feel your best, chiropractic care offers a supportive, non-invasive, natural path forward.

So why not start today? Explore how your body is meant to feel when it’s aligned, supported, and functioning at its best. Your wellness journey doesn’t require a plane ticket – just a willingness to begin.

Delve Into the Differences in Hearing Aids

When exploring what hearing aid to get there are always a lot of questions. How will wearing a hearing aid help, who will make sure they are working properly, how will it look, etc.? This is where the help of a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist becomes important in finding answers to these questions:

• Hearing aid choices.

• What to look for when buying a hearing aid.

• How to get used to a hearing aid.

Hearing Aid Choices

Hearing aids come in a variety of styles such as receiver in the canal (RIC), behind the ear (BTE), in the ear (ITE), in the canal (ITC), and completely in the canal (CIC), and others. All of these fit differently and have advantages and disadvantages depending on your particular hearing needs.

There are also several different levels of technology. These are chosen depending on your hearing needs or hearing expectations. Each level of technology brings its own style and benefits such as:

Noise reduction. All hearing aids cut noise some. How much they cut it varies. Some also cut wind noise.

Directional microphones. This feature involves two or more microphones. They can pick up sound from all around or from just one direction, such as in front of you. Directional microphones can improve hearing in places with a lot of background noise, like restaurants.

Rechargeable batteries. Some hearing aids have batteries the user can recharge.

Telecoils. This feature makes it easier to hear when talking on a telephone that works with telecoils. The

telecoil picks up the sounds instead of the microphone. Auracast. This is a new feature that will begin replacing Bluetooth and will be implemented similarly to telecoils, but in an easier-to-use way.

Wireless connectivity. Many hearing aids work with devices that use Bluetooth. Devices include cellphones, music players, computers, and televisions.

Remote controls. Some hearing aids come with a remote control. This lets you adjust features without touching the hearing aid. Some hearing aids connect wirelessly to a cellphone and have an app that allows use of the phone as a remote control.

Variable programming. Some hearing aids can store settings you program ahead of time for certain listening needs.

Synchronization. If you wear two hearing aids, this feature makes them work together. So if you change the volume or the program for one hearing aid, you also change the other hearing aid.

When looking for a hearing aid ask your Hearing Instrument Specialist as many questions as possible. Make a list of the things you want to achieve with your hearing aids and the things you feel you hear well and what areas are troublesome.

To do well with hearing aids, wear them often and take good care of them.

The Inner Frontier: Exploring Your Gut’s Hidden Landscape

This July, as we embrace the theme of exploration, we invite you to turn inward, toward a powerful yet often overlooked landscape: the gut.

Across cultures and centuries, healers have understood that true wellness begins in the belly. From ancient Egyptian purification rites to Hippocrates’ belief that “all disease begins in the gut,” internal cleansing has long been essential to physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

One of the most respected tools for this inner journey is colon hydrotherapy, a gentle irrigation of the colon to release accumulated waste and stagnation. In traditional Chinese medicine, the large intestine is responsible for letting go, physically and emotionally. This ancient wisdom aligns with modern science, which now recognizes the gut as our second brain, home to the enteric nervous system, a vast network of over 100 million neurons that communicate directly with the brain and influence mood, immunity, and mental clarity.

At Agape Healing Arts, we see the gut as sacred terrain that processes more than food, it processes life. When the gut becomes sluggish, we may feel it as

fatigue, brain fog, skin issues, or emotional heaviness. The skin, our largest detox organ, often mirrors what’s happening within. Treating skin conditions externally without addressing gut health is futile.

Cleansing from the inside out supports true transformation. Probiotic-rich foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, and kefir, along with regular colon hydrotherapy, can restore balance and vitality.

Exploring the gut means listening deeply to your body’s wisdom. Ask yourself: What am I holding onto? What am I ready to release? Colon hydrotherapy, when approached with intention, becomes more than a physical cleanse, it becomes a journey of renewal and clarity.

This season, may we each be brave enough to turn inward, release what no longer serves us, and trust the healing intelligence of the body.

Drs. Keith and Bella, holistic physicians and owners of Agape Healing Arts, offer personalized integrative care focused on your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

A Nurse’s Journey into Travel Planning

Travel advisor Trish Schickling was inspired to join the industry after a disastrous family trip to Orlando. As for the benefits, she points out that working with an agent can get you access to extra perks only available to insiders. business,” she said.

In the stressful world of healthcare, Jupiter resident Patricia Schickling finds solace in an unexpected passion: travel planning.

By day, she works as a nurse at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Riviera Beach. By night and on weekends, she transforms into a travel agent with LuxRally Travel, crafting dream vacations for clients seeking adventure beyond hospital walls.

“Everyone's happy when they're planning a trip,” the Syracuse, N.Y., native said. “You know, it's not like healthcare, where everyone's a bit sad or scared and apprehensive about what's going on.”

For Schickling, taking off her nurse’s hat and putting on her travel visor is a way of coping with a hard job providing medical care for veterans.

“My travel agent business is still growing. It's kind of starting as a side

It may very well have been a trip from hell that got Schickling thinking how crucial a travel advisor can be to a successful trip. It all happened in that Alice in Wonderland haze that we all experienced during the pandemic.

The Schicklings decided a jaunt to a well-known Orlando hotel water park was the ticket, where they had booked a family suite.

“We got there and the room was dirty,” she said. “The bathroom had hair all over it. We found crumbs on the couch. So we opened it up and there was a bunch of Goldfish crackers crushed up inside of it –plus a dirty diaper.”

Schickling, who goes by Trish, then had a thought: If she had used a travel agent rather than a travel website, then all the horror could have been avoided.

Like so many travellers before and since, Schickling thought she had landed a great deal through an online travel site with water park passes. She kept thinking how her two kids were going to love it.

“We got there, and the waterpark wasn’t operating. It was just the pool.”

Feeling like a real-life Clark Griswold at the gates of Walley World, Schickling schlepped the family to another hotel and spent hours being transferred from person to person trying to get her refund from that online travel site.

When she thought about it later, Schickling said, “This would have been a whole lot easier had I booked it with a travel agent – and we would have been a whole lot less stressed.

Fast forward, now Schickling is that very professional working

Schickling, here at Coco Cay in the Bahamas, uses her own travel experience, as well as industry connections, to find travelers the best options to fit their needs. And she can step in if travelers experience problems or delays.

through the LuxRally Travel agency. Have you ever just kind of planned a trip to relieve stress? Rather than sit in front of the television, Schickling would conjure up dream vacations.

“My husband (Erik) kind of made a joke that I should be a travel agent, because I would spend a lot of my free time just planning trips or looking at trips and dreaming about different trips to take,” Schickling said.

“He said you should just do that and get paid for it. I'm like, ‘You know what? Let's see if we can make that work.’”

And indeed this Renaissance mom/nurse/wife/travel agent has done just that.

“A lot of my clients lately have been more of a domestic kind of travel, but I can do international travel, as well. I did just book a honeymoon couple,” she said. “They're going to Paris and then Cancun, so they're kind of splitting up the stay a bit, and I was able to coordinate.”

Shickling wants to dispel the notion that a travel agent is a relic of the past due to those very internet sites. They are also not an added expense. It’s not just the

fictional White Lotus that has relationships with travel agents.

“A lot of hotels actually have special partnerships with travel agents and they offer clients of travel agents a few extra perks,” Schickling said. “A lot of times, you can pay for a standard room and get upgraded to a deluxe room.”

Don’t like hotels or resorts? Schickling has the resources to book vacation properties or villas.

And if something goes sideways (think flight delays, lost luggage), there is the travel agent to fix the problem, not somebody in a phone room at Expedia.com. The difference with partnering with a travel agent versus an online travel site is akin to having a concierge doctor compared to a walk-in clinic.

Scheckling said lately she has worked with a lot of local parents who are looking to travel domestically ifor their children’s extracurricular sports. They don’t call them travel teams for nothing.

“Baseball, yeah, it's a big thing. And people are traveling farther than you think,” she said. “A lot of teams are going up into Georgia. They're going into Alabama.”

Jupiter People, It’s Time to Explore!

We Google everything. Some “Grok.” Some “Chat” (GPT). So many ways to search, right? But this July, instead of typing "things to do near me," how about pointing your compass and just going?

Let me guide you (literally) to four corners of Florida. A one-tank trip for the explorer in you:

East – You’re Already There!

Go any farther east and you’d need gills. But we love the water (most of us, right?). Grab your paddleboard, hit Coral Cove, or snorkel around Blowing Rocks Preserve. Exploring east means diving into what makes Jupiter amazing.

North – Vero Beach (1 hour)

Chill vibes and coastal charm. Stroll Ocean Drive, browse the art museum, and dig into fish tacos by the sea. Less crowd, more calm.

South – Delray Beach (1 hour)

Cruise down A1A for beach town energy and boutique

finds. Walk Atlantic Avenue, lunch on the Intracoastal, and if you're feeling zen, visit the Morikami Museum. West – Okeechobee (1 hour)

Head west for a totally different Florida. Hike or bike around Lake Okeechobee, cast a line in the bass capital of the world, or grab produce at a roadside farm stand. Rural and refreshing.

No passport needed. Just pick a direction and explore.

And before you go... who's keeping an eye on your books? If you're dreaming of adventure without blowing the budget, I know someone who can help.

Heather Russell grew up in Jupiter and brings over 20 years of experience in the accounting industry. She specializes in providing expert bookkeeping services to local businesses.
