2024 AdventHealth Broadway Series

May 28 – June 2

Dear Friends, Families, and Guests,
Welcome to Starlight and the opening of the 2024 AdventHealth Broadway Series! We have many changes and updates at Starlight to share with you this summer, and in the theme of this year’s season – Dare to Be Different. With innovative programs, amenities, and upgrades, we are working hard to provide a positive guest experience to you.
Speaking of different, we introduced a revised mission and vision statement this past year to guide our work and decisions:
Mission: Connect our community through live arts experiences that entertain, inspire, and engage.
Vision: To be the home for accessible live arts experiences for all generations.
In alignment with our new Mission + Vision, Starlight has launched its first Capital Campaign in more than 20 years – UniquelyKC – which promises exciting venue improvements and the expansion of our community engagement programs. These initiatives are intended to enhance the Starlight tradition and extend arts experiences at Starlight and within the community to new and diverse participants of all ages. I invite you to learn more about this campaign in your program book or scan the QR code below.
And, you might have noticed a few differences upon arrival to Starlight tonight. From new colorful parking signage to enhanced concessions and dining operations, the changes we’re implementing aim to give you the best experience of outdoor live entertainment in a uniquely Kansas City landmark.
Tonight, I am excited for you to experience The Cher Show, a musical focused on one of the most daring and memorable entertainers of all time who needs no last name or explanation – Cher. For more than six straight decades, Cher has been an unstoppable force, dominating popular culture, breaking barriers, and pushing boundaries – letting nothing and no one stand in her way.
A legendary icon who never shies away from the spotlight, Cher is an inspiration and champion for celebrating what it is to dare to be different. Cher, Starlight is working to follow in your footsteps!
Thank you for choosing Starlight and for being a part of the Kansas City tradition of experiencing the magic of Broadway under the stars.
Cher-ing the love with you tonight,

PRESENTING ACCESSIBLE ARTS FOR ALL AGES

Starlight broke ground on the Performances for Young Audiences series this spring with The Boy Who Cried Wolf and GRIMMZ Fairy Tales. Through highly visual and physical storytelling, these productions are written specifically to appeal to young imaginations.
In addition to public performances, 2,500 elementary students enjoyed the wonder of live theatre – in an environment tailored just for them – at no cost to school partners.
“For many students, this was their first live performance. They were highly engaged, and their eyes and ears were with the actors the entire time!”
-Teacher, Westridge Elementary
When you donate to Starlight’s Annual Gala, you support accessible arts programs like this. With every step forward, we’re Breaking Ground.
