In the wake of the 2020 pandemic, I found myself unexpectedly laid off due to COVID-19, which pushed me to dive into the world of social media marketing and sneaker reselling. With the sneaker and trading card markets booming, I seized the opportunity to launch my own sneaker website.

This venture coincided perfectly with the distribution of stimulus checks, leading to an increase in frivolous spending that I capitalized on. I dedicated endless hours to growing my Instagram page, @sneakerrackusa, and through this platform, I connected with a diverse group of people, including athletes, models, and musicians, significantly expanding my professional network.

Over two years, my following grew to about 18.6k. However, as the economy began to decline, it became increasingly difficult to sell expensive sneakers. Facing a surplus of inventory, my career took a significant turn when a clothing company reached out to collaborate. This partnership allowed me to rebrand my page to “rvckedup” and shift my focus toward creating promotional content for global brands. This strategic pivot not only helped me move my remaining sneaker stock but also opened doors to work with major companies, including Prime by Logan Paul and KSI, and Fctry LAb, which has just launched a sneaker collaboration with the famous rapper NLE Choppa.

Today, I manage a thriving Instagram page with over 200,000 followers, showcasing my journey from a side hustle born out of necessity to a robust career in social media marketing. This path has taught me the importance of resilience and adaptability, allowing me to navigate the complexities of digital marketing and emerge as a key player in connecting brands with the world.

As I continue to collaborate with some of the industry’s biggest names, my story exemplifies how strategic changes and persistent effort can lead to substantial success.
