Through King County funding, the Imagine Institute has increased child care access for King County residents by opening 25 licensed family child care businesses in key high-needs areas through its Imagine U program since 2022. Imagine U is a unique relationship-based program that matches experienced and skilled licensed child care peer mentors with people in their community who want to open their own licensed child care business. Peer mentors and
emerging child care entrepreneurs receive training and funding to help the County expand child care access for families.
