Did you know how many great things happen at our local library? Here library supervisor Anna Wanigasekara gives us her top 10. 1. Activities for Children.... Lego or Colouring Club every Saturday, and lots going on in the holidays too. 2. Books! Loads of titles to choose from, and access to our completely FREE digital library of ebooks, audiobooks, magazines and newspapers. 3. Get online – free PC use for 2 hours a day, free Wifi, and great value printing and photocopying, only 10p per black and white sheet. 4. Make new friends and try new things! Get Creative, our adult craft group – 1st Wednesday of the month 10-12, and Film Club, watch a film and discuss it with a glass of wine, ask staff for dates. 5. Stories, music, movement and nursery rhymes for under 5s. Bounce and Rhyme for babies, Thursdays 10.45am and Boogie Books for toddlers, Fridays 10am. 6. Secret Book Quest – a reading challenge for children aged 5-12, read 50 books to crack the code. But when you’ve cracked it, shhhhhhh! It’s a secret! 7. Home Library Service – if you can’t get to the library due to age, ill health or caring responsibilities, our friendly volunteers can bring the library to you. 8. Summer Reading Challenge – our annual reading celebration for children, every summer holiday – Books, freebies and fun! 9. Information – there’s a reason that librarians are in the top 5 most trusted professionals. We care that the information you get is from a reliable source, and we’ll help you to find it. 10. Last but not least – a friendly welcome! Spend as long as you like in the library and it won’t cost you a penny (although since we’re a charity, we’ll happily take any pennies you’d like to give us!)
