In all the years I have been working with women and doing work on myself, I have seen the theme of weight loss being one of the constant complaints I very rarely find a woman who is happy with herbody just the way it is. This belief system is the same in each woman, regardless of her size and or age. Over the years, so many women have apologised for their bodies, their appearance or complained about not being the way they want to be.

Another observation is, the longer a woman has had this negative belief system about herself, the more weight she will gain Why? We are what we focus on If our attention is constantly on what we don’t want, we create it Even very thin women, will complain about part of their body and what is wrong with it

There are several elements here that we need to address, especially if we wish to be healthier and happier The first is mindset, what do we believe to be true about ourselves and what do we actually want for ourselves This can take quite some time to unpack, but it well worth the time, patience and love I highly recommend working with a coach, or professional to do this

The second element is stress If you are stressed, your body will hold weight

Long term stress builds up in the body and creates a holding pattern Signs you are holding long term stress are difficulty sleeping, tired on waking, afternoon crash and feeling wired but tired

This affects your endocrine system and hormones, meaning your body is in survival mode and changes are going to be very hard to make Adding in fasting, high impact exercise will only add to the bodies stress and continue the pattern

Finally, nutrition and movement are a big factor We often see food as good and bad, and weight loss is about dieting and deprivation Movement is hard and cruel and only for the athletes.

How can we change this?

Love. Decide to love yourself back to health.

Challenge the negative thought patterns you hold about yourself. Find women who inspire you and start to model your thoughts around a new lifestyle.

Get real about your stress. What are your trying to control, hang onto or constantly worry about? Only you can move from a fear-based life to a peaceful accepting life. It’s all in the response. If you have had trauma, there is plenty of help available with this today.

Food, glorious food. For many it is the hardest one. But, with love you can start to get real about your relationship to food. Are you eating your feelings or eating for health? Real food, good protein and low processed foods. Simple meals made to nourish your body.

Movement. Start slow. Walking is a great place to start. Then add in some strength, maintaining muscle is key.

Finally, acceptance. Accept where you are and love who you are. I run a program for this lol

Be gentle with yourself I am here for you, I see you
