Kreuzer wants to be sheriff again I am Monroe Kreuzer, Jr., a 59 year old, lifelong resident of Chambers County. I served as Sheriff of Chambers County from 2001- 2004. My wife of 37 years, Kathy and I have two grown children. Christen (31), husband Chris and daughter Paighten, son Michael (32), his wife Kaci along with their four children Kyle, Foster, Meg and Tucker, they all reside in Anahuac. I am an active member of the Anahuac Assembly of God Church. I serve as a Trustee, Adult Sunday School Teacher and Lead Bible Studies on Wednesday evenings. Come Worship God and Study His Word with us. I began serving in Law Enforcement under Sheriff Chuck Morris as a Reserve Officer. I have been involved with law enforcement in Chambers County from 19812004. I currently hold an Advanced Peace Officer, Instructor and Arson Investigators Certificates. I have also served the Citizens of the City of Anahuac for 15 years as Councilman and Mayor. I served the Anahuac Vol. Fire Dept. as Chief (28) years of the 38 years I have been a member. I have been a member of the Anahuac Emergency Corps for 40 years. I was one of the founding members of Chambers County Fire & Rescue Association. I served 20 years and the last 10 as President. I was employed by the Anahuac Independent School District Transportation Dept. for 27 years, until elected Sheriff in November, 2000. Through my many years of administration and by being involved in the emergency services of Chambers County for more than 40 years, I do understand the needs of Chambers County Citizens. Your Sheriff’s Office consists of approx. 75 dedicated and well trained employees which I would be happy to compare with the employees of any other agency. As your Sheriff in 2001, I divided the county into four patrol areas instead of just three. This allows
ing and vehicle repair. By revamping the Outside Trustee Work Program to provide maintenance on county owned facilities, I was able to help save thousands of dollars annually for the Taxpayers of Chambers County—which is a program that is still saving taxpayers money today. We also upgraded our communication center with the assistance of the Houston and Galveston Area Council. Our Dispatchers have 3 secure work stations with advanced equipment. This equipment was purchased by the money collected for 911 fees within the H.G.A.C. service area. This equipment immediately displays a map with the G.P.S. location of the caller. This equipment was installed in early 2003 with only minor costs to Taxpayers. Your support will be greatly appreciated along with your vote in the Republican Primary on May 29. Contributed Photo

He will face Republican Brian Hawthorne in the May 29 primary election. more Patrol coverage to all citizens of Chambers County. As your Sheriff, I utilized the 2001 budgeted overtime of $253,000.00 to fund the 4 Sergeant positions. The 4 Sergeants supervised the sixteen patrol officers and 20 reserve officers. The Reserve Officers contributed more than 4,000 volunteer hours in the year 2003. By cross training our employees, we were able to maximize the work output with the limited employees that we had. For instance, all five Investigators were Certified Juvenile Investigators, Fire Investigators and had completed Advanced Crime Scene Investigation, which helped them be better able to help serve the needs of Chambers County residents. The Dispatchers were all cross trained and certified as Jailers to assist in Jail
when needed. My employees as of December 31, 2004 documented more than 16,500 hours of training since January, 2001. As your Sheriff, I received multiple grants. One for interdiction equipment worth $80,000.00, a $10,000.00 grant for radar units, $55,000.00 for an Automated Finger Print Identification System for our jail, Bulletproof Vests, 10 Video Cameras from the D.P.S. and a LO / JACK Tracking Device used to locate stolen equipment. The $150,000.00 seized in 2003 alone was used to purchase fuel, tires, repair parts, [1] patrol car and much needed safety equipment. A computerized Jail Monitoring System was installed in our 148 capacity jail using the seized funds as well. I used inmate labor to perform laundry, maintenance, cook-
