Chambers County Sheriff's Office Has Busy Weekend High Speed Pursuit

were taken into custody without incident by Chambers County Deputies, after a successful spike deployment by Texas DPS Troopers. In all, the pursuit continued for approximately 45 minutes with the assistance of a Texas DPS Helicopter. Two subjects, Adrian Sinaloa and Luis Armando Ledezma Sinaloa, were taken into custody. Luis Sinaloa was booked into the Chambers County Jail on charges of Evading Arrest or

Detention with Motor Vehicle (Third Degree Felony), Aggravated Assault Against Public Servant (First Degree Felony) and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Second Degree Felony). Luis is being held without bond. Adrian Sinaloa is also being charged with Evading Arrest or Detention with Motor Vehicle (Third Degree Felony) and Hindering Apprehension (Third Degree Felony).

Sheriff Brian Hawthorne reports that, on October 26, 2020 at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call in reference to a dog howling, crying and in distress in the area of Cotton Lake. The Marine Unit, along with Animal Control Officer C. Verret and Trustee Bennett responded to the area and were able to hear the dog whining. A search of the

densely vegetated area resulted in the location of “Dude.� “Dude� was wearing a collar that had his owner’s contact information, and was safely returned home. “I realize the importance of our fur family members and am very appreciative of the efforts of our Marine Unit, Animal Control Officer Verret, and Trustee Bennett in searching the area to locate “Dude�, said Sheriff Hawthorn

Sheriff Brian Hawthorne reports that on Saturday October 31st, 2020 at approximately 11:00 p.m., Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch was contacted by Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in reference to Beaumont Police Department in pursuit of a Chevrolet Tahoe traveling westbound on Interstate 10 towards Chambers County. Chambers County Deputies and Texas DPS Troopers responded to assist. A short time later a Trooper observed the pursuit and entered to assist on Interstate 10 near State Highway 124, where Chambers County Deputies joined shortly after. The pursuit remained in Chambers County before turning around and returning to Jefferson County, at speeds upwards of 100 miles per hour. The driver continued to make U-turns before heading back West into Chambers County on Interstate 10. On

multiple occasions during the ensuing chase, the driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe was observed utilizing his vehicle as a weapon and attempting to strike pursuing officer’s vehicles. As the chase approached Winnie on Interstate 10, the driver exited at State Highway 124 and began to decrease his speed. As the driver neared the intersection of IH-10 and FM 1663 another vehicle, a silver in color Hummer H3, pulled in front of the Chevrolet Tahoe and both vehicles came to a stop. The fleeing driver then exited his vehicle and ran to the Hummer before jumping into the passenger seat, in what appeared to be a carjacking. As deputies and troopers attempted to decipher the situation, it was quickly discovered that the driver of the Hummer had come to assist the suspect in evading law enforcement. The pursuit reentered Interstate 10 westbound, where both suspects
