on the trip by Speaker of the House Dade Phelan and Representative Trent Ashby. He took some questions from the crowd and of course the Southern border situation came up and he wasted no time or words explaining his displeasure with the current situation and administration in Washington.
Devillier passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 just two days after a large crowd gathered in his honor on Saturday, March 27, 2021. The event Saturday was a day of honor and assistance for a much beloved public servant who was battling leukemia and was only able to attend the gathering via a video conference call from the hospital
in Houston. Judge Yale was providing a strong battle to the disease and was doing fairly well until Friday afternoon when things took a drastic turn for the worse and he ended up returning to the hospital in Houston. The event Saturday provided meals, a car show, a parade, bounce houses, a silent auction, a live auction, and a blood drive in
Judge Devilliers name. Chambers County Judge Jimmy Sylvia was on hand to read a proclamation that stated that Saturday, March 27, 2021 was Judge Yale Devillier Day in all of Chambers County and Judge Devillier was on the video conference and heard the proclamation read. Funeral arrangements are pending at press time.

Trinity Bay Conservation District Coasting
By Wade Thibodeaux The Hometown Press received an email from Trinity Bay Conservation District General Manager James Gibson that the rescheduled regular monthly board meeting had been cancelled. The email stated "Under advice from District legal counsel the meeting tomorrow is cancelled due to the high probability we will not have a quorum present. The fact that the District is under investigation we feel this is the best avenue to take at this time. I would be happy to meet with each of you to give you a briefing on everything that I legally can". The investigation that he is referring to is a series of supenoes and invitations to appear before a Grand Jury that have been issued to board members and employees of the District. Due to the fact that it is a Grand Jury, no information about the investigation has

been able to be obtained. The Hometown Press will continue to monitor all of the events and will report as soon as verifiable information is obtained. In a follow up interview with Mr. Gibson, he assured The Hometown Press that all operations that were within the already approved budget would continue to operate as normal. All services, payroll, repairs, etc. would continue as planned and all of this information had been cleared through the legal counsel of the District. The Grand Jury met on Thursday, March 25, 2021 and will meet again on Thursday, April 8, 2021. Once these jury's meet, more information should surface about the direction of the investigation, and indictments, if any, should become public information and will be reported in The Hometown Press.
