Commemorative Coronation Pull-out Meeting the future king...
In 1996, the late Robert Hill, then Chairman, and Alan Pardoe, then Chief Executive of The Hills Group, joined lifelong environmental champion, Prince Charles at the opening of Wiltshire Wildlife Trust’s new nature reserve at Clattinger Farm in north Wiltshire. What followed was a dramatic period of growth for the Trust, linked to the Heritage Lottery Fund and grants from Hills under the Landfill Communities Fund to create what is now known as Lower Moor Farm. The area includes 96 acres of additional reserves at Swillbrook Lakes, Clattinger Farm, Sandpool and Oaksey Moor Farm Meadow.
Alan Pardoe said: “Meeting Prince Charles was a great honour. At the time there was little public talk of climate change and the environment was very low down the political agenda. His support for and understanding of Hills’ and the Trust’s vision for creating living landscapes across Wiltshire for all to enjoy was both inspirational and valuable.”
