President’s Message Hello fellow Rotarians, What a great way to finish a fantastic year. On Saturday night at the District 9685 Changeover, The Hills-Kellyville Rotary Club was presented with the District Governor’s Trophy for Small Clubs. Thanks to all members, particularly the Board, for their dedication and energy that has made us, in IPDG Graeme Davies’ eyes, the best small club in the district. This being my last President’s Report for The Bulletin for this year I would like to thank, in particular, IPP Bobby Redman for the tremendous job she has done publishing this bulletin. She has been very tolerant with me, particularly when I have delayed, or forgotten, to write the report because of other commitments. Last Monday Bobby, Penny, Ray and Alan combined to give us a very informative presentation on the recent Rotary International Convention. Their presentation was accompanied by a very interesting video on sanitation. President Rob.

We look forward to seeing you at the Club Changeover Congratulations to President Robert Mackey on his very successful year and every good wish to President Elect Ian Pearce as he steps into the President’s chair for 2014 – 2015 Where:

Happy Anniversaries to Suresh and Sheila Prasad and Rod and Toni Tilden on the 14th July Summary of Last Meeting – Monday 23rd June 2014 Apologies - Ian Pearce, Gordon Scoble and Wilf Van Emmerik President Rob welcomed Members and guests and gave his report, once again reminding Members that both District Changeover and our Club Changeover were coming up in the next couple of weeks. District Changeover takes place on Saturday 28th June and will be all over by the time you read this newsletter, our Club Changeover is the following Saturday, 5th July, at Dural Country Club. President Rob reported on his attendance at the Kellyville Rural Fire Service presentation night that he had attended during the week, saying that the Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville was recognised with grateful thanks for the support it had given the Service this year and in years gone by. Presidnet Rob also said that Mayor Michelle Byrnes offered very positive feedback on the work the Club was involved in, particularly in reference to Jazz at The Pines and the upcoming Garden Competition. Directors gave their reports and Members were riminded by Treasurer Keith Stapley that semi -annual dues are due on the 1st July. Receipts had been received for donations to the Rotary Foundation and Australian Rotary Health, as well as from National Pharmacies (Bowelscan). A reminder was received that the Inner Wheel of Baulkham Hills are celebrating their Changeover on the 11th July at Springfields and all Members are welcome to welcome Janice Walker into the President’s role as Lyn Stapley steps down. The Inner Wheel Club of Norwest will also be holding their chageover at any time with Toni Tilden taking over the Presidency from Deborah Campbell. Congratulations to both Clubs on the good work that they have done this year and Congratulations to the two new Presidents. Notification has been received that both the Club’s applications for Council Grant’s had been recommended for payment and will be confirmed after the obligatory newspaper announcement, these grants include $750 towards our Christmas with Rotary event and $8200 towards the Garden Competition. A reminder went out to those attending the Meeting on Wednesday Night at 7-30pm to discuss both the Garden Competition and Jazz at the Pines. Alan showed the new website for Jazz, which is looking fresh and attractive. Alan noted that we were getting positive responses from the Jazz Clubs that he had made contact with and many were prepared to advertise the event to their Members and friends. Youth Director, Jim Sifonios, reminded Members that the Writing Competition was getting closer, and that eight schools had expressed interest in being involved for the event, which will be held on 11th August. Congratulations goes out to Ray and Debbie Campbell who are happy to announce the birth of their latest grandson, Jack. Congratulations guys. This week’s raffle was won by President Rob who kindly left the jackpot intact.

There was no Formal Guest Speaker for the Night, but some of the Attendees of the Rotary International gave their feedback on the Event.
