OUR HISTORY 2012 - Grace Church of the Islands In August of 2012 The Habersham School opened its doors at Grace Church of the Islands on Wilmington Island, serving 71 students in grades PreK3 - 12th.

2013 - Gould Cottage Acquired Towards the end of our first year, the Board of Governors made the decision to seek a more community-central location for the school’s long-term life and impact. The Habersham community rallied together to ensure the purchase of the historic Gould Cottage on Hull Park which subsequently housed all grades for year two.

2015 - Habershall Hall Acquired In year four, a relationship was developed with the Savannah College of Art & Design, which allowed for the use of Habersham Hall for our Upper School. With Habersham Hall in play, a solidified campus plan for the next four years was secure.

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN, BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Dear Habersham Family, Over the last 10 years, we have seen many changes in our culture. We are living in a time where "different" is valued above traditional, time-tested virtues and beliefs. I am thankful that The Habersham School, through a Christ-centered education and environment, is a place where teachers and students have the common ground of the Gospel of Christ to guide them in this ever-changing environment. This provides our students with a solid foundation before graduating from The Habersham School. By fulfilling the mission of our school, we will always have the ability to provide a place where committed Christian families choose to educate their children. Ashley and I have found it a joy and pleasure to serve The Habersham community. We have been part of the school family for eight years, and along with our children, have developed friendships that will last a lifetime. We have been blessed with three boys who have been educated by The Habersham School, including one graduate, Grant, Class of 2021, and two current students, Hamilton, Class of 2024 and Pierce, Class of 2026. Over the years, we have experienced firsthand what Habersham does best: acknowledging the student as a person created in the image of God for a unique purpose, challenging them to ask questions and encouraging them to seek wisdom and truth. This equips them to realize that through their education they will make a difference in the world as a service-minded follower of Christ. Habersham students are strengthened in their faith and prepared for success in their next phase of life. The Annual Report recognizes and celebrates those who have played a significant role in the growth and development of Habersham. My fellow members of the Board of Trustees want to show you how the success of our school has come from the generosity of our Habersham families, grandparents, and those in our community as we support the Habersham Fund and Capital giving campaigns. Your generosity has allowed us to advance our mission through additional tuition assistance, faculty support, facility enhancement, program enrichment, and overall educational excellence. Your support has given the board confidence to strive to reach our goals in our strategic plans for the future.

We love Habersham and we want to say thank you for all your philanthropic support, your confidence in our Christ-centered mission, and your commitment to our students and their education. We are extremely grateful. Thank you, Dr. Byron Colley Chairman, Board of Trustees

MESSAGE FROM THE HABERSHAM FUND CHAIRS Dear Fellow Patriots, It is our joy and honor to be a part of The Habersham School family on this 10 year anniversary. In the fall of 2012, we were expecting our first child. We had friends who were a part of the school’s beginnings, and we quickly became interested in the classical Christian school model for our own family. We both had different educational backgrounds, so this school model was different than what either of us experienced before. As we learned more about the school’s values, vision, and the Christ-centered approach to education, we knew this was where we wanted our children to learn. Today we have a 4th grader and a kindergarten student who are learning and thriving, and our third child will be joining Habersham next school year. Like you, the desire we have for our children and their futures is that they would know Christ. That they would take the image of Christ into the world, influencing their own families, businesses, careers, schools, and ministries with sharp minds committed and equipped to communicate the Truth. This is why they are at The Habersham School – not only are they being taught and challenged academically, but the whole child is being nurtured. Deuteronomy 6 encourages us, as followers of God, to love him with all our heart, soul, and strength. It then tells us to be intentional about teaching our children to love the Lord and to impress the commands of God on their hearts. This is our calling and privilege as parents. Many of us have also partnered with our churches to do this very thing. But what a gift to have a school join in this partnership. We have seen firsthand the blessing that it is to be at Habersham; the like-mindedness that we experience with other families and the commitment of the staff and faculty to love our children and teach them well. As chairs of the Habersham Fund we would like to invite you to participate in giving to our school. It is not about the amount given, but rather it is about how many of us in the Patriot family and community can team together to support Habersham in ways that are beyond what our tuition dollars cover. We are all in different financial situations, yet likeminded in providing the type of education that we believe is best for our children. It is our hope that you will choose to join us in contributing to the Habersham Fund this year. And the truth is, we need you to partner with us. Like you, we have many demands on our time and financial resources, but when we think about our family values and the prayers we pray for our children, outside of the local church, we cannot think of a more compelling cause to support. Imagine what would happen if every Habersham family contributed to the Habersham Fund. Our school would be able to deploy these resources to invest in the leadership, teachers, programs, and facilities in significant ways.

Let’s do this together so we can continue to meet the needs of our children, launching them into the world as image-bearers of Jesus Christ, the hope of the world. In Christ, Natalie and Erik Puljung
