Renaming suggestion for Warialda Recreation Ground

Councillor John Coulton has taken receipt of a letter from a Warialda resident requesting that Gwydir Shire Council consider naming the Warialda Recreation Ground after Mr Jim Payne.

Council recognises the significant value to the community of naming places, structures and assets under its direct control. The naming, renaming and preservation of existing names contributes to a sense of belonging and reflects the cultural and heritage values of the region, Gwydir Shire Council thus invites residents to contact them with feedback and suggestions regarding the proposal. This invitation will be in place until 5pm on Friday 4 March 2023.
