Giving thanks for and with your spouse is one of the most significant habits you can build into your marriage. Gratitude is an essential ingredient in any relationship, but it takes intentionality and time to put it into practice.

When we approach marriage with thankfulness, relational satisfaction rises. 3-1/2 cups apple cider or juice 3 cups apricot nectar 1 cup peach nectar or additional apricot nectar 1/4 cup water 3 tablespoons lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 2 cinnamon sticks (3 inches) 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh gingerroot 1 teaspoon grated orange zest 8 whole cloves Orange slices and lemon peel strips, optional

9 cups water 2 cups sugar 1 can (12 ounces) frozen cranberry juice concentrate, partially thawed 1 can (12 ounces) frozen orange juice concentrate, partially thawed 3/4 cup thawed lemonade concentrate 2 cups vodka 8 cups lemon-lime soda, chilled

In a 5-qt. bowl, mix water and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Stir in juice concentrates and vodka until blended. Transfer to freezer containers, allowing headspace for expansion; freeze overnight.To serve, place 2/3 cup slush in each glass. Add 1/3 cup soda.

In a 3- or 4-qt. slow cooker, combine first seven ingredients. Place cinnamon sticks, ginger, orange zest and cloves on a double thickness of cheesecloth. Gather corners of cloth to enclose seasonings; tie securely with string. Add to slow cooker. Cook, covered, on low until flavors are blended, 3-4 hours. Discard spice bag. Serve warm. If desired, garnish with orange slices and lemon peel.

In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup cider, 1 cup caramel topping, cinnamon sticks and cinnamon to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer until liquid is reduced to 1 cup, about 15 minutes.

Cool slightly; discard cinnamon sticks.

Place sprinkles and additional caramel topping in separate shallow bowls. Hold each glass upside down and dip rim in caramel topping, then dip in sprinkles. tTo serve, fill glasses with ice. About Us

“I was born and raised in inner city Chicago, the sixth of eighteen children with fifteen brothers. Being the oldest daughter, I was always a caregiver which I believe influenced me to pursue work in the healthcare industry. Today, I have three daughters and five grandchildren.

Years ago, I volunteered for hospice and knew immediately that helping seniors was my calling. I was soon employed by hospice but I felt something was missing. I realized it was the limited time I was able to spend with my clients. Having my own business allows me to provide the intimate hands on service needed in our community. I am committed to our seniors throughout their lives and I thank the community for the opportunity to serve.”
