One-week introduction to business course
EVERY MARCH | ONLINE | Free
Learn business essentials and network at our free, one-week introduction to business course. Delivered via live webinars, the course consists of five industry-themed days: start and run your creative business, product development, raise your business profile, brand and sell your work, develop sales channels. Participants who complete the course can also apply to take part and exhibit their work as part of a followon Spotlighting programme.
SHINE
3-month programme on how to launch and showcase your collection
EVERY JULY-SEPTEMBER | ONLINE | Free
Learn how to present, sell and showcase your work at Shine, our free, part-time programme. Delivered through live webinars, self-paced sessions and practical assignments, understand how to confidently sell face-to-face and online, raise your profile and connect with potential customers and the wider industry. You’ll also get the chance to take part in live events, an exhibition and our online shop.
CREATIVE LINKS
Talks and networking events on business topics
MONTHLY | ONLINE Pay what you can: £3/£5/£10 | IN PERSON £12
Gain know-how and connect with others at our Creative Links events, both online and in person. Hosted by industry experts and successful entrepreneurs, you’ll explore and discuss subjects including range planning, finding your market, showcasing and communications. With Q&As and time to network, there are lots of opportunities to engage in conversation and reflect on how to develop your business.

Expert industry panel review and report

Get invaluable advice from our high-profile, industry expert panel at our Business Diagnostic and Advice sessions and receive your own tailored report, ensuring you don’t waste precious time or resources before making critical decisions for your business. This is your chance to review any area of your business and develop an action plan.
BUSINESS CATALYST (SMALL ) GRANTS
£1,000 grant to help businesses access resources and skills
EVERY APRIL & OCTOBER | Free to apply
Apply for funding to grow your creative business in the early stages. Funded by the Goldsmiths’ Company Charity, our £1,000 Business Catalyst (Small) Grants open access to resources and skills. You will be able to acquire essential new equipment, marketing tools or specialist knowledge to move your plans forward to the next stage.
SHORT COURSES
Specialist technical skills taught by practicing craftspeople
ALL YEAR | ONLINE | IN PERSON | From £19
Our specialist courses will help you to develop technical skills in precious metal making and production. Taught by master craftspeople with decades of experience, our courses cover topics from traditional hand skills to contemporary methods and processes and new technologies. We provide specific skills delivered to small class sizes of up to 10 people. Learn alongside other professionals to increase your confidence, build efficiency and accuracy and form new connections.

Co-working space near Hatton Garden
MINIMUM 12 MONTHS | Monthly £104.50 + VAT | Annual £1,099 + VAT
Looking for a co-working space in London? We offer bookable jewellery benches, desks and a meeting room at the Goldsmiths’ Centre from Monday to Friday (9am – 6pm). You must be resident in the UK, have run your business for at least 2 years and developed a full collection or service. Join our waiting list to become a Gold Member and to create your best work.
ACCESS GRANTS
Free access to the Goldsmiths’ Centre training courses
ALL YEAR | Free to apply
Our Access Grants, funded by the Goldsmiths’ Company Charity, ensure that finance is not a barrier to taking part in our business and technical skills courses. As part of our commitment to EDI, we will cover the fees for one course in one calendar year (up to a value of £500) for individuals who face financial difficulty. Preference is given to applicants from groups who are under supported in the industry.
BUSINESS MENTORING PROGRAMME
Have you taken part in a Business Diagnostic and Advice session? You’re now well on the way to take your next steps tackling challenges and putting your business plan into action. As an emerging business, our team seeks to hand match you to businesspeople or members of the industry for free, independent advice. Embark on a transformative journey for both you and your volunteer mentor.
