The richest man in Asia is a tycoon of development and technological change. While many parts of the world were already introduced with digital advancements, India experienced its first wave of the internet in 1986 with a restricted permit to the educational and research community. Later in 1995, a key component of digitalization- the Internet was exposed to the common public. Due to high pricing, scarcely distributed devices, low connectivity, and fewer people utilizing the services the bloom of technology was slow. Nonetheless, the change was irreversible. An attractive feature to promote e-platforms in coming years. With a yearning for a luxury lifestyle and access to mobile phones with a standard network, thousands of better versions of Amazon can be seen in the coming years.

2018, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerburg gave a deafening silence in response to the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Cambridge Analytica acquired tons of millions of Facebook user’s data without their concern. A historic crisis facebook faced, after tons of its principles and manifesto promised to the public in its 14 years of age. Cases of fraud very fairly increased as links for cashback and surprises lured naive people into a trap of online thefts. The advancement of technology proves that the human brain behind innovations, if able to assist the world then can also exploit it. How many times after installing a software or an app, its terms and conditions are given attention, and are accepted after all deliberation? These terms and policies take the unconscious permission for access to the person’s data. All digital services have the potential to be cracked. Sadly, hackers learn skills for penetrating privacy walls from digital platforms only. Somehow, digitalization has managed to grasp the confidence of the common people over its security. Security issues are a database error that can be increased significantly in the future if appropriate measures are not taken.

Big data of telemedicine analysis of patients exhibit the potential to violate the essence of privacy. Any health issues, as a sensitive concern, maybe daunted by the digital revolution. The risk of compromised virtual transactions is lessened with the OTP. However, a one-time password is sent on the SMS, and not impossible to be intercepted with malware as cellular networks are known to be quite weak and vulnerable. Education should exhibit practical and social skills. The edutech platform lacks these elements. With the increasing popularity of e-learning, real education is on the verge of vanishing, with a possibility to turn a person into a contended fish in a pond. Another incident happened in 2016 where the US-based e-payment giant Paypal filed a lawsuit against Indian e-payment company Paytm for copying its logo. The rise in popularity of OTT content has also increased unauthorized downloads. Piracy becomes a threat to businesses producing Copyrighted content. As technology advances, the stealing of movies, software, and even personal details, has become easier. Strict laws are not implemented against this practice hindering the economy of the entertainment business.

Time to be an antivirus

In the realm of technology, everyone is treated the same. Often the stories are heard about celebrities, politicians, or giant company’s social media accounts being hacked. When such big handles aren’t safe, what chance the general public stands? What can be a solution to this inconspicuous problem? It’s too late to take a U-turn now, being technically cautious is the far most only solution. No matter how illegal cyberattacks might be. It tends to harm every user in some way. Major courses of action like protecting digital devices through a password, using two-step authorization for public accounts, encrypting private data, and using anonymizing services such as TOR (An anonymous web browsing network) need more attention. These solutions might not dazzle the dark side of the world wide web but will provide sufficient light to watch every footstep in the transforming era.
