ANTHEM – The Anthem Community Council Board of Directors voted 5-0 at an Oct. 12 special meeting in favor of moving forward with plans for an EPCOR water hauling station on ACC-held land in the Meridian Rd./Desert Hills Dr. area. Troy Day, Vice President of Operations for EPCOR, spoke at the meeting, asking the Council for consideration in obtaining about an acre of Council-owned land, to be used for a water hauling station for Anthem and New River. “We’ve been asked by Supervisor Bill Gates and the

Outlets at Anthem Christmas Tree to arrive next week PHOENIX – The Outlets at Anthem will once again be home to the tallest Christmas tree in the state this year, and the tree is scheduled to be delivered on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 24. Every year, the tree is delivered in October to allow 3-4 weeks of setup time before the tree lighting. This year’s tree lighting has been scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18. The tree will be arriving around 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 24. The tree will get lifted into place at 7:45 a.m., if all goes according to schedule.
The community is welcome to stop by and watch tree delivery and placement. Santa will be on-site to kick off the holiday display, and performers from the Musical Theatre of Anthem will perform Christmas carols. The 80-foot tall tree arrives at the outlet mall on a flatbed truck. It’s lifted into place by a heavy-duty construction crane. The tree is placed in a specially designed, permanent 3-footwide by 7-foot-deep well, then anchored with wires at the top of the tree to keep it secure. Details on this year’s tree lighting ceremony will be released soon. Keep updated at outletsanthem.com.
