LEAVING AFRICA HYVÄSTI AFRIKKA Finnish Riitta and Ugandan Catherine have a few things in common; work, a shared home and a sense of humor. Riitta has been an aid worker in Uganda for more than 25 years and soon it will be time for her to retire and to return to Finland. Before that, however, Riitta and Catherine invite religious leaders to a course in which they challenge them to a straightforward, taboo breaking discussion on women’s rights regarding their bodies, sexuality and life. But soon Riitta and Catherine have serious allegations made against them, allegations that can jeopardize their entire life’s work.

IIRIS HÄRMÄ (M.A.) has over 15 years experience as producer, production coordinator, director and writer in documentaries. She has been working at her own Guerilla Films production company since 1999.
